I am pleased to be considered for a registered nurse position within the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at
Johns Hopkins Hospital. I have specifically chosen to apply to your prestigious organization because of your

As a new graduate nursing student from The University of Arizona (UA) my clinical experiences, skills set,
compassion, and dedication to providing high acuity and exceptional clinical care are well suited to joining your
Intensive Care nursing team. During my senior year preceptorship at Banner University Medical Center in
Tucson, Arizona I successfully completed 180 hours over a 5-week span on an Oncology BMT progressive care
unit. Throughout this preceptorship I honed my time management skills, communicated effectively, and
advocated successfully for my patients and families, while fostering positive working relationships with the
nursing team and interdisciplinary staff members.

I am a passionate learner, as evidenced by maintaining a 3.9 GPA throughout a rigorous nursing program at the
UA. Clinically, I have completed over 1,100 hours at the bedside within various hospitals throughout Tucson,
Arizona and additionally completed 400 hours abroad at a charity medical clinic in Bolivia, South America.

I am committed to providing a compassionate clinical practice that is evidence informed for each and every
patient I care for, and recognize my clinical training and skills will complement the standard of excellence that
Johns Hopkins upholds within the medical community.
