To whom it may concern,

This letter is in response to the application for the New Grad Residency Program with
special interest in Critical Care nursing. With 180 precepted hours in the Trauma ICU of a
level one trauma center and 400 precepted hours in a Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit,
I have developed a passion and the skill-set for high acuity nursing.

I am currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program at The University of

Arizona College of Nursing and plan to graduate in December 2017. My GPA is currently a
3.7 and I have actively pursued professional development and clinical experience through
working as a patient care technician and participating in a summer nursing externship.

I take great pride in the natural and learned skills and attributes I possess which have
allowed me to find great success in my journey as a student nurse. My combination of
academic and emotional intelligence has allowed me to perform remarkably in the
classroom and more importantly, make impactful connections with patients and their
families. I am a fast learner with the flexibility to work well in changing environments.
Motivated by my strong belief in holistic healing, I am able to view a patient as an entire
entity with emotional, spiritual, and psychological needs in addition to their physical ones. I
believe my abilities and the mindset I hold regarding nursing, aligns with the values and
standards of INSERT HOSPITAL NAME HERE.

With my clinical experience, academic success, and passion for quality patient care I believe
I would be an asset to your hospital. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look
forward to hearing from.

Sincerely,

Shelby Case
