Dear hiring manager,

As a recent nursing graduate, I’m excited to submit my application for the registered nurse position at
your reputable hospital. While looking at pediatric hospitals in the Chicagoland area, I was motivated to
apply at a hospital that offered a new graduate residency program. My integrative health-based
education, clinical experience and training as a caregiver and certified nursing assistant has prepared me
for a registered nurse position. I’m confident that my passion for excellent patient care and improving
lives will make me an asset to your team.

I graduated with a bachelor’s degree of nursing at the University of Arizona. This program was not just
your average nursing program but an integrative health-based nursing program. In this program, we
focused on holistic health and patient-centered care. As a student I learned how to clinically treat
conditions through a variety of methods including lifestyle enhancement and nutrition. I learned that
great care is care that focuses on the body as a whole. A program with an emphasis in integrative health
prepared me for the workforce in ways I would have never imagined. I now have a unique toolbox with
knowledge of integrative therapies such as deep breathing and distraction techniques.

I completed my clinicals at many of the Banner university hospitals in the Valley of Phoenix, Arizona.
During my clinical experiences, I honed my nursing skills and I learned what works best for me. My
time management skills improved and my love for nursing only grew more prominent. I pride myself on
my interpersonal skills and leadership qualities. Besides the fact that my clinical experience was during
COVID I completed 675 hours of clinical fieldwork, including pediatrics, OB, psychiatrics, and critical
care.

I have been passionate about working with children since I volunteered at Lurie Children’s hospital in
high school. Through interaction with patients and families in the environment of a Children’s hospital, I
decided that is exactly where I wish to work. Pediatrics is where I felt most comfortable during my
clinicals. It is where I believe my skills and personality will be of the most benefit.

I’m confident that my training, dedication, and hands-on experience with patient care makes me an ideal
fit for the registered nurse position. I am excited to put my skills to work. I look forward to learning
more about this position and the opportunity to discuss my skills and qualifications further.
