Summative Assessment for Science Unit

Day 4 Summative Assessment:

The scoring guide for day 4 is a rubric to determine if students have grasped the
knowledge of force and motion throughout the unit. The students will fill out the centers sheet
for science and math for day 4. The centers are a chance for students show what they have
learned about force and motion. At the first science center, the students will use various
objects and complete tasks to determine if the object increases in motion, changes direction, or
stops. The second science center will have students use various objects to determine if they are
magnetic. The students must provide a rationale to determine why the object is or isn’t
magnetic. A differentiated scoring guide was not used, as the students do not require such
when participating in hands-on activities to prove their grasp of the content knowledge.
Students 1 and 2 will be able to circle the answers and provide a short, written rationale.
