Perhaps, there is no other time in our history than today in which

waste management has become very important. With the rapid growth of
the population, advances in technology and other factors that go with
progress, waste has become a major problem not just to the community
but to the nations and entire earth for that matter.
The impact of waste seems to touch the people’s social, economic
and health aspects of their lives. More importantly, how waste is handled
may have a huge implications on the environment and the general health
of the public.
The municipality of Guiguinto launched its environmental project
entitled “War Against Waste” WAW, Basura Busters!
Daungan Elementary School participates on this campaign and
come up with a school environmental waste management project entitled
“Project BiBO” ”Basura In the Bottle”. This project aims to reduce the
plastic waste materials in school.
Everyday, each pupil in every classroom brought a 1.5 plastic
bottle. During recess time or lunch break, when they ate biscuit or any
food that has plastic wrappers, instead of throwing it in the trash can,
they cut it into tiny pieces, then put it inside the 1.5 bottle until it is full.
Yes-O officers collects the 1.5 bottles full of plastic trashes every
Friday. They organized and arrange it as a drainage cover in the school
canal.
