Bobby Braun

When authors evaluate others in order to improve their own writing, they would

want to look to Bobby Braun, author of ​Space Technology​, because he is successful at

proving his argument. The use of facts about NASA's technology in everyday lives helps

to engage the readers. Bobby also continues to gain the reader's trust by using specific

evidence that helps back up his claim. Although Braun is effective he should change his

word choice to help connect with the readers. In this article ​Space Technology b​ y Bobby

Braun, Braun is able to effectively present his argument by using facts and evidence,

even though he need to improve his use of vocabulary to help further the connection with

the readers.

Braun is a successful author because he connects to the audience through facts

and national pride. Braun tells the reader what NASA has created that the audience uses

on a daily basis to show the diversity in NASA.,¨… the cameras in many of today's

cellphones, improved biomedical applications including advanced medical imaging and

more nutritious infant formula...¨(Braun paragraph 7) Braun explains the previous goals

of NASA and why they need to accomplish them. This helps Brauns argument because it

helps cement his idea of why NASA should further be funded at the rate it was years ago;

it also makes the reader relate to his cause by giving examples of what has been created

by NASA. Braun uses national pride to help the audience agree that NASA needs support

to grow,¨ America expects no less.¨ (Braun paragraph 9) Relating his cause to American

pride makes for a stronger link between himself and the reader. The use of facts and

national pride proves Braun is effective, because he directly connects to the reader.

Braun’s continues to showcase his effectiveness through the use of outside

sources and educated vocabulary. Braun quotes the national research council to increase

his credibility which increase the audience's trust in Braun’s argument.”Success in

executing future NASA space missions will depend on advanced technology

advancements that should already be underway…” (Braun Paragraph 3) Braun uses

extensive vocabulary to highlight his argument which shows he is intelligent. With the

higher level it helps the reader entrust Braun to know what he is talking about. As the

reader evaluates his wording, they know he understands this topic. It is clear that Braun is

effective at showcasing his background proving he is article to the audience he can be

trusted.

Although Braun is effective, to improve he should add context clues to make it

easier to understand.”Aerospace remains a strong component of our national fabric…”

(Braun Paragraph 1) With this he should have also evaluated his vocabulary so that this is

more understandable to a wider spectrum of people. Braun introduces information for the

reader, but should have included it earlier. Braun should have brought up the examples

of how NASA has impacted the world today today sooner than in the sixth paragraph.

When including this information, Braun should have added details. When Braun talked

about the advancements he should have mentioned further about how aerospace

technology has​ ​helped further them. At times, Braun should have incorporated less

sophisticated language to spark the readers interest. Towards the beginning Braun

mentioned about Aerospace without giving any context clues, possibly leaving the reader

wondering. Braun presented an effective argument, but it would have reacted with more

readers if he was more entertaining.

In conclusion, Bobby Braun was effective at showing his argument in space

technology by incorporating facts and educated language, even though he needs to

improve upon engaging the reader. Bobby Braun was a to make the readers believe in

donating money to NASA through the use of evidence. He also creates trust in his readers

by using elevated and scientific vocabulary. Although readers will side with Brauns

opinion, he should have incorporated easier to understand material. Writers should turn to

Bobby Braun for tips on better writing skills.
