Two Man Set

Two Man Set

by Ed Parker Sr.

Commence by going through the salutation. After the salutation

then proceed with the set. (The first part of the form deals with the
footwork, and coordinated hand movements, and then shows how the two
forms piece together.

1. With feet together and backs straight, have both hands cock to
corresponding waist. Simultaneously look in toward each other.
Opponent #1 (on the right) looks to his left and opponent #2 (on the
left) looks to his right.

2. Opponent #2 then moves to his right with his right foot and
simultaneously strikes with the right back knuckle to the right temple
of opponent #1 -- drawing his left hand back and to the side of his
left hip.

3. Opponent #1 then steps back to his right (on a 45 degree angle)

with his left foot as his right arm blocks out and against the outside
of opponent #2's right elbow; he then pivots to his right and delivers
a left punch to the right ribs of opponent #2.

4. Opponent #2 then steps to his left with his left foot, pivots to
his right on both feet and blocks down and out with his right hand; he
then thrusts the knife-edge of his right hand to the left jugular vein
of opponent #1.

5. Opponent #1 then steps forward and to his left with his right
foot as his right arm parries the right arm of opponent #2 out and
away from him; he then takes an additional step forward with his left
foot and pivots to his right with both feet and strikes the left
kidney of opponent #2 with his right back knuckle.

6. Opponent #2 steps forward and to his right with his left foot and
pivots to his right as he thrusts out a right hand block to opponent
#1's right arm; he then pivots to his right and delivers a left punch
to the right ribs of opponent #1.

7. Opponent #1now slides his right foot back (into a cat stance) as
his left hand blocks outside of opponent #2's left arm; he then draws
his right foot to him and snaps out with a ball kick to opponent #2's
stomach.

8. Opponent #2 pivots to his left while still on the same spot and
simultaneously blocks down and out with the side of his right clenched
fist to the outside of opponent #1's right leg as his left hand cocks
over his head. Opponent #1 then pivots to his left (in a complete
turn) while still on his left foot and plants his right foot --
cocking his left arm to his left hip as his right arm cocks
horizontally across the stomach.

9. Opponent #2 then steps with his left foot to the front and right‹f
of his right foot with his right arm cocked horizontally across his
stomach (fist clenched and palm up) and on top of his left arm which
is also cocked; he then steps forward with his right foot and delivers
a right back knuckle to the right temple of opponent #1.

10. Opponent #1 then steps to the right and back of his right leg
with his left foot as his left hand blocks out and to the inside of
opponent #2's right arm; he then kicks to the stomach of opponent #2
with the knife-edge of his left foot.

11. Opponent #2 steps to his left with his left foot as he blocks
down and out with the outside portion of his right clenched fist to
the inside of opponent #1's right leg; he immediately steps forward
and into opponent #1 with his left foot as he delivers a left uppercut
to the stomach of opponent #1 (opponent #1 at this point has planted
his left foot with his left hand over his head.)

12. Opponent #1 then pivots to his left and drops down into a
kneeling position as his right arm blocks in from the outside of
opponent #2's left arm; he then pivots to his right as his left hand
chops horizontally to the left temple of opponent #2.
13. Opponent #2 then blocks up and under the left arm of opponent #1
with his right arm and continues his right arm from the blocking
position into an overhead circular motion to his right; continuing his
swing he then strikes with the side of his right fist to the left ribs
of opponent #1.

14. Opponent #1 then steps back with his right foot and slides his
left foot to him to form a cat stance. Simultaneously he circles his
left arm from outside and in with the inside portion of his left
forearm to block the outside of opponent #2's left arm; he then steps
in with his left foot and thrusts his left fingers to the eyes of
opponent #2.

15. Opponent #2 then pivots to his right as his right hand grabs
inside of the left wrist of opponent #1. Simultaneously his left
finger knuckles strike to the throat of opponent #1.

16. Opponent #1 then steps slightly to his left with his left foot as
he pivots and drops. Simultaneously his right hand grabs on the inside
of opponent #2's left wrist as his left elbow strikes inward and
horizontally to the solar plexus of opponent #2.

17. Opponent #2 then steps back with his left foot and simultaneously
delivers a right overhead elbow strike to the left forearm of opponent
#1; he then pivots to his right as he delivers a right back knuckle to
right temple of opponent #1.

18. Opponent #1 then drops lower in his stance as his right hand
pushes opponent #2's right hand up and cocks his left hand
horizontally across the waist (palm open and facing up); he then chops‹f
to the right ribs of opponent #2.

19. Opponent #2 then slips his left foot back and to his right as his
right arm blocks the left arm of opponent #1 from the outside in; he
then shuffles forward as he delivers a right horizontal back elbow
strike to the left ribs of opponent #1.

20. Opponent #1 then moves his right foot slightly to his right and
immediately slips his left foot back to him to form the cat stance.
Simultaneously he delivers a left downward back knuckle strike to the
right forearm of opponent #2; he then steps forward with his left foot
and delivers a left thumb and knuckle thrust (palm up) to the eyes of
opponent #2.

21. Opponent #2 then shifts his left foot slightly to his left as his
left hand pushes the left arm of opponent #1 to the right; he then
thrusts the right heel of his palm to the left ribs of opponent #1.

22. Opponent #1 then shifts his left foot slightly to his left as his
right hand scoops down from overhead and out against the outside of
opponent #2's right arm; he now pivots to his right as he
simultaneously delivers a left heel of palm thrust to the right ribs
of opponent #2.

23. Opponent #2 then steps to his left with his left foot and
simultaneously blocks down and out on the inside of the left arm of
opponent #1; he then kicks with the knife-edge of his right foot to
the stomach of opponent #1.

24. Opponent #1 then blocks on the inside of opponent #2's right leg
by scooping down and out with his right arm as his left foot steps
