In this meeting it was clarified that-

1) Both the ODL mode B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. Courses for both in service primary
and upper primary teachers of our State numbered 1 lac 5 thousand (approx)
be conducted in compliance of the RTE Act, 2009 and NCTE regulations for
the protection of services of the aforesaid untrained teachers.
2) These courses be conducted in all B.Ed. colleges and D.Ed. ( Govt., Non-
Govt. and Self-financed) institutions. The B.Ed. course be conducted on
Sundays and vacations under NSOU. The D.El.Ed. Courses be conducted in
all D.Ed. ( Govt., Non-Govt. and self-financed) institutions during vacations
and in addition taking Saturdays and Sundays.
3) The D.Ed. course be conducted in B.Ed. Colleges on Saturdays and vacations
only.
4) It is further decided that allotment of candidates strictly be made according to
the NCTE guidelines and as per the list provided by the School Education
Department.
5) Periodical meetings to review both the courses be held between the NSOU
and West Bengal Primary Education in presence of Hon’ble MIC, HED. For
D.El.Ed. Courses the number of contact classes would be required 52/56 and
B.Ed. courses be 60. Therefore, it is clarified if there is at least two(2) classes
in a day only 26 to 30 days required. The institutions will be instructed to
contact the courses utilizing the vacations so that the in service teachers would
avail for their study.
