MONITORING HEALTH CARE SYSTEM USING INTERNET

OF THINGS - AN IMMACULATE PAIRING

ABSTRACT
IoT in health care is aimed at empowering people to live healthier life by wearing connected
devices. Health care industry has perpetually been on the forefront in the adoption and
utilization of information and communication technologies (ICT) for the efficient health care
administration. Recent developments in wireless sensors, communication and information
network technologies have created a new era of the Internet of things (IoT)[1]. Connected
health care is very important application of the Internet of Things. The concept of connected
health care system and smart medical devices bears enormous potential not just for
companies, but also for the well-being of people in general. Hospitalized patients whose
physiological status requires close attention can be constantly monitored using IoT-driven
monitoring. This type of solution employs sensors to collect comprehensive physiological
information and uses gateways and the cloud to analyze and store the information and then
send the analyzed data wirelessly for further analysis and review. It replaces the process of
having a health professional come by at regular intervals to check the patient's vital signs,
instead providing a continuous automated flow of information. The main aim of this work is
to give a comprehensive overview of this area of research and sensors used in health
monitoring device, how the wearable health monitoring devices works, capture the data and
generate report based on different parameters.
SMART WORK-ASSISTING GEAR
ABSTRACT
This paper describes the use of IoT hardware and protocols to build a smart device which
assists factory workers and other employees. This gear is a wearable glove device which can
be used in various work spaces where power tools are being constantly used. This proposed
system is built around a micro-processor acting as the central server, while many sensors are
interfaced with microcontrollers, which act as the link for data transmission and perform
various tasks. One of the microcontrollers acts as the master, which controls the other
microcontrollers attached to various sensors. The master contains an LCD screen and few
buttons, which can control the menu being shown on the screen. This can control the other
sensors, and read the data in real time. The gloves contain safety features so that the workers
are unable to use any dangerous power tools without wearing proper equipment. The glove
will act as a security measure in such a way that each tool will have restricted access,
according to the level of expertise of the worker. The glove can also restrict the access to the
tools which are being used actively during a particular time-frame. The entire data is actively
logged by the central server and various other sensors such as heat sensor, temperature sensor
and vibration sensors can be attached and monitored by the master glove. The system also has
an extra capability of analyzing tone of the workers so that whenever the user gets hurt and
shouts in pain, the analysis function can classify the pain and call for medical help
accordingly. A simple sweep based camera module is used alongside the central server to
record and live-stream the captured video whenever any power tool is switched On. This
system proliferates the value of safety of a worker in a factory floor.
A SMART HOME APPLIANCE CONTROL SYSTEM FOR
PHYSICALLY DISABLED PEOPLE
ABSTRACT
The construction and conversion of ordinary homes into “smart homes” has seen a
tremendous rise in recent years. This can be ascribed to technologies such as the Internet of
Things, sensors, smart phones, smart appliances, cloud computing, and digital assistants such
as Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Google Assistant, Apple Siri, and Microsoft Cortana. At
the outset, smart homes were built to enhance the quality of life for ordinary nondisabled
persons. Impressively, we have seen smart home residents reaping the benefits of security,
energy saving, and the ability to control their lighting, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air
conditioning), door locks, and coffee makers while they are in their space of comfort, for
example in bed or siting on a couch. However, most smart home devices are not designed
with people with disabilities and limited range of movement in mind. Of course, being able to
control home devices using smart technology could be a tremendous benefit to people with
physical disabilities and the older persons. This paper presents a system that uses smart plugs,
smart cameras, smart power strips and a digital assistant such as Amazon Alexa, Google
Home, Google Assistant, Apple Siri, or Microsoft Cortana to capture voice commands, from
a person with physical disabilities, spoken in a much more natural way to control ordinary
home electrical appliances in order to turn them on or off, with minimal exertion.
SMART MIRROR: A TIME-SAVING AND AFFORDABLE
ASSISTANT
ABSTRACT
Over the years, there has been a gradual decline in the amount of time spent by people in
reading a newspaper on a daily basis due to their busy working schedules, hence lagging
behind to catch up with daily news. This busy routine subsumes a sheer amount of time spent
on changing appearances in front of a mirror. This problem can be solved with introduction
of a smart system in a house that would allow one to do more in less time. The objective of
building a “Smart Mirror” is to help save time by helping people save time while also
enabling them to update them with current news. This would be achieved by the device as it
provides valuable information on the display at a glance, while also acting as a conventional
mirror.
BAZAAR MIND: A VIRTUAL SHOPPING ASSISTANCE

ABSTRACT

With vast amount of people joining the workforce and huge traffic jam in the capital, it
becomes very difficult for city dwellers to manage family life. In this paper, we present a
simple shopping assistant that keeps track of the items needs to be purchased by the user. It
also searches in the background for the desired items and reports to the user on close by
shops where the items would be available. The general acceptance of this app is found to be
quite high. The novelty of this paper is twofold: (1) designing a shopping assistant, and (2)
analysing the user acceptability. In future, we plan to incorporate a recommendation system. It
deals with designing of shopping assistance and providing desired results based on user
acceptability.
BLUE BRAIN TECHNOLOGY
ABSTRACT
Blue Brain is the name of the world's first virtual brain. A Virtual machine is one that can
function as, a very appropriate application of an Artificial Intelligence human brain. Reverse
engineering is a foremost concept of implementing the human brain and recreate it at the
cellular level inside a complete simulation. The four major motivations behind the Blue Brain
Technology are treatment of brain disfunctioning, scientific curiosity about consciousness
and human mind, a bottom up approach towards building thinking machine and databases of
all neuro-scientific research results and related past stories. There are three main steps to
build the virtual brain are data acquisition, simulation and visualization of results. The
mission is undertaking the Blue Brain technology is to gather all existing knowledge of the
brain, raise the global research efficiency of reverse engineering and to build a complete
theoretical framework.
SMART HEALTH CARE SYSTEM
ABSTRACT
The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances,
and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and connectivity
which enable these things to connect and exchange data. In a world with an accelerated
population aging, there is an increasingly interest in developing solutions for health care. The
Internet of Things is a new reality that is completely changing our everyday life and promises
to revolutionize modern healthcare by enabling a more personalized, preventive and
collaborative form of care. Aiming to combine these two important topics, this work presents
an IoT-ready solution for which is able to monitor and register patient’s vital information as
well as to provide mechanisms to trigger alarms to user and also to guardian in situation
where user forgets to take the dose. Its effective low-power, low-cost characteristics turn this
solution suitable to be used anywhere. This is accomplished by interfacing the dose details
from guardian to components which include Arduino UNO, GSM, LCD, LED’s and sensors.
