WHAT IS THE HAPPINESS DIET?


The Happiness Diet integrates ideas of nutrition
and neuroscience to discuss how the typical
“Modern American Diet” (MAD) is increasing
obesity rates and depression. Processed foods
are shrinking and starving our brains. The
Happiness Diet focuses on increasing mood
boosting nutrients for a healthy and happy brain.
The Happiness Diet guidelines include the
following: eliminate processed foods, balance
your fats, eat fish at least twice a week, pile on
the produce, focus on nutrients and not calories,
ditch the soda and fruit juice, eat more plants
than meat or dairy, try to eat slower, chew a little
longer, savor the flavor of your food more, pick
one day a week to enjoy small portions of
sweets.
