Pee euE TOONG FONG INDUSTRIAL CO HEIGHT TFIC GABIONS AND MATTRESSES FIC Gabions and Mattresses are used to give per- manent protection and support to sea walls, river banks, culverts, reservoirs, road bridges and many other structures in civil engineering. Gabions are box- shaped container made of tough woven hexagonal netting strengthened by selvedges of heavier wires. To further strengthen the container, diaphragms are added to divide the Gabion into 1m compartments. TFIC Mattress are Mattress-Shaped Gabions, DESCRIPTION TFIC woven mesh Gabions and Mattresses is manu- factured from Heavily Galvanised steel wire or with Black Poly Vinyl Chloride coating on the galvanised wire. The special PVC coating on the wire is resistant to effects of ultra violet ray and sea water. Mesh is manufactured as triple twisted hexagonal woven mesh wherein the joints are formed by twisting each pair of wires through three and half turns. The strength ‘of TFIC Gabion and Mattress lie in the triple twisted hexagonal mesh of steel wire which is reinforced by thicker wire running along the edges of the mesh. GABION RECOMMENDED USES When filed with quarried stone on site, TFIC Gabions and Mattresses proves to be excellent material for ‘construction of retaining and anti-erosion structures. Metal Gabion and Mattressess to control erosion and stabilise soils have been used for almost a century and their use is becoming more widespread. Theit potential is almost unlimited, major applications included: “Slope stabilisation for embankment and cutting “The prevention of erosion in river embankments *Coastal protection in sea walls and sand dunes “Construction of river weirs and channel linings “Groynes projecting into rivers, inland waters and sea “Protection of bridge support and surroundings etc etc, et. They are main- tenance free and can be constructed on site with the use of unskilled labour. Unlike rigid retaining struc- tures, they possess immense flexibility which enable them to deform without loss of strength rather than to fail without warning. Their porosity and permeability provide ‘built in’ drainage which eliminates need for weep holes in the structure. These factors render the use of Gabions to be far more economical than other methods of construction SPECIFICATIONS TFIC Gabions and Mattresses are available in many sizes and combinations of wire diameter and mesh size. When ordering TFIC Gabions and Mattresses, kindly specify the following: a) Overallsize - Length (L) x Breadth (B) x Height (H)(e.g.3mx1m x1m) b) Wire diameter - Either gauge or diameter in mm (eg. 16G or 270mm) — Width x length of mesh (eg. 8m x 10cm) c) Mesh size t HEIGHT ASSEMBLY TFIC Gabions and Mattresses are supplied in fiat form and can be moulded into its rectangular shape by raising the sides, separation and end panels to the vertical. The raised edges and panels are laced together with binding thus forming a boxed shaped unit. On site, quarried stones are then place in the unit with tension wire strained at intervals between the stones to keep the unit in shape. The top edge is then laced to the panels and side edges. In addition to Gabions and MattressessTFICwoven mesh in rolls can be supplied to use as safety cover- ing for olif faces and various excavated slopes. STANDARDS Wire used to manufacture TFIC Gabion conforms to BS 1052 - 1980. Galvanised Coating on wires used in TFIC woven mesh conforms to BS 443 : 1982 and the woven mesh conforms to BS 1485 : 1983. For TFIC PVC Gabions and Mattresses, the woven mesh is further protected by special PVC coating as specified in BS 4102 : 1986 MATTRESS TOONG FONG INDUSTRIAL COMPANY No. 58, 512 Mile, Jalan Kelang Lama, ESOL an eee For enquiries and advisory service, please call: OOS SAL 72 UMM PL SPRL SLRS | Fax : 03- 77815730, 77811012 oem o cn here]
