This is a setting manual of CPU alarm function on JAN-701B/901B ECDIS with a new control unit
NCM-860A and JAN-2000 ECDIS/JAN-1186 Route Planning System (RPS) with a new processor unit
NDC-2000-M2.
※ If there are few equipment, estimated time for updating software is necessary by number of equipments.

Step1:Creating the CPU alarm setting CD

PC(Windows) 1 CD-R writing software is installed.
3) Burn the 3 files and 1 folder which are confirmed in 2) to CD-R with CD-R writing software.
・ Don’t change file name, otherwise the CPU alarm is not set up correctly.

4) Confirm the composition of CD-R. Confirm that each file is written to root directory.

Step2:Creation of the USB flash memory for CPU Alarm Setting
Create the “USB flash memory for CPU Alarm Setting” according to following step

1 An availability is 1 MB or more..

1) Please extract the compressed file (ECDIS_CPU_Alarm_R1_0.zip) that provided by the JRC.
・ The USB flash memory should use the device computer virus verified.
・ Don’t change file name, otherwise the CPU alarm is not set up correctly.
This is end of creating of the USB flash memory for CPU Alarm Setting.
Please perform the following procedure "Step3:CPU Alarm Setting"

Step3:CPU Alarm Setting
For JAN-701B/901B, there is DVD drive when opening the cap in the upper part of front panel.

2) Move the cursor on “Startup Menu”, and right-click the trackball on operation panel to display
“PASSWORD” dialog.
3) On “PASSWORD” dialog, right-click the trackball once again, then “Software Keyboard” is displayed
and Enter password “5858” and left-click “ENT”.

4) Confirm that “Software Update: Q:¥EUpdate.exe” is displayed in the upper dialog box, and then
left-click [OK] button. (When using USB flash memory, confirm that “Software Update:
F:¥EUpdate.exe” is displayed.)
Attention
If the CPU Alarm Setting CD is not recognized, software data path is not displayed as following.
Left-click [Cancel] button and then confirm that CPU Alarm Setting CD is inserted in to the DVD Drive
or USB flash memory is inserted in to the USB port.
This is the end of CPU Alarm Setting. If another ECDIS are installed, Setting other

Step4:Confirming of CPU Alarm Setting
After setting, confirm that CPU Alarm Setting according to following step.
1) Move the cursor on the “Startup" menu, then right-click in the mouse of the operation unit, and will be
displayed the “PASSWORD" dialog.
2) When right-clicking again on the “PASSWORD" dialog, then "Software keyboard" is displayed. Input
the password "99999” and left-click “ENT”.

3) Confirm for proper display range of the CPU fan speed, left-click the [OK] button.
Proper range : 3000~3900[rpm]
4) Confirm for proper display range of the CPU temperature, left-click the [OK] button.
Proper range : Room temperature ~ 90[deg]
5) UPS, BATTERY display appears, left-click the [OK] button.(Please ignore the indication contents.)
If the CPU temperature and CPU fan speed is not the proper range, Please run again Step3:CPU Alarm
Setting.
This is end of confirming of CPU Alarm Setting.

Step5:Storage of the CPU Alarm Setting CD/USB flash memory
When Image CD is restored, CPU Alarm Setting CD/USB flash memory may be reused.
Please keep CPU Alarm Setting CD/USB flash memory on the ship importantly after the setting is
completed.
Please put this manual and CPU Alarm Setting CD/USB flash memory in a clear file on the back
side of the front cover for JAN-701B/901B. It is possible to open the front cover by loosening the
screws of the four corners.
Please put this manual and CPU Alarm Setting CD/USB flash memory in a clear file on
the back side of the front cover.
The equipments for JAN-2000/1186 have no storage area in the system, please keep this manual
and CPU Alarm Setting CD/USB flash memory importantly on the ship.
This is the end of the storage of the CPU Alarm Setting CD/USB flash memory.
