Taverns and inns began being built for “staying in.” This attracted travelers for the
most part, who didn’t wish to use stage coaches.”
The first of “hotels” all had data and transaction manually i.e. on paper and journals. It
all worked well. For the time this system of record keeping was built for. Time then
changed everything.
After the first computers will built, gradually, all aspects of business were
“computerized” when needs arose. There was a need of quickly issuing rooms, and
generating payrolls instead of having too many people to do so. This also was
required to reduce human resource. Hotel management ERPs were built for managers
to deal with hotels as easily and comfortably as possible. Some of today’s Hotel
Management ERPs include those of Oracle, PeopleSoft, et cetera
