GO FISH FRACTIONS!

*Normal Version*
SET UP: Make sure there are 54 cards in the deck. For 2-3 players, deal each player 8 cards.
For 4-5 players, deal each player 7 cards. Put the rest of the cards face down in a stack, within
reach of all players. Choose a player to go first, then continue turns in a clockwise direction.

TURNS: During a player’s turn, they (the fisher) will ask for a card. For example: “Does anyone
have something equivalent to 11/6?” If anyone has a suitable card, they must hand it over and it
becomes part of the fisher’s hand. If no one has that card, the group says, “Go fish fractions,” and
the fisher takes a new card from the stack.

GOAL: When a player has an equivalent trio in their hand (a mixed number, improper fraction,
and geometric model that are equivalent), they can put their trio down. When a player runs out of
cards, they may draw a new hand (of the same size as at the beginning of the game) from the
stack. The game is finished when all the cards have been placed into trios on the table. The player
with the most trios wins the game.

card. For example: “Francis, do you have the mixed number 1 5/6?” If that person has that card, they
must hand it over and it becomes part of the fisher’s hand. If that person doesn’t have that card, they
