 COMPANY BACKGROUND AND OPERATION

1.1 RD Fishing Industry Inc. Vision and Mission

The Vision of RD Fishing Industry is a dynamic, diversified, and socially

responsible global conglomerate, providing excellent products and services

guided by the highest standards of competence, integrity, and strong faith.

The Mission of RD Fishing Industry is to provide an array of creative,

innovative products and services, and strive to foster and maintain long-term

customer relationship founded on mutual trust and confidence. Recognize and

reward excellence, promote the well-being and uphold the dignity of our

employees. Exercise prudent management of resources and consistently

generated high returns for our stockholders and fulfill our social responsibility as

a worthy corporate citizen by uplifting the quality of life in the communities where

we work and serve.

1.2 Owners of the RD Fishing Industry Inc.

RD’s began with a pawnshop business in General Santos City in year

1976 by founder and CEO Rodrigo E. Rivera, Sr. and his wife Dolores. Sixteen

years later in 1999, RD Corporation was established as a holding company.

Since its establishment, RD Corporation has become one of the fastest growing

conglomerates in the country. To date it has rapidly expanded to 43 subsidiaries

and 12 affiliates. These new companies and business ventures were born out of

the need of a sister company making RD Corporation, by and large, an

integrated conglomerate.

1.3 Location of RD Fishing Industry

The RD Fishing Group is engaged in large scale fishing which is the core

business of RD Corporation. The largest fishing entity in the SOCSKSARGEN

region of Mindanao, the country’s undisputed tuna capital. The RD Fishing

Industry Inc. is located in 1st road, Brgy. Calumpang General Santos City.

1.4 RD Fishing Group

The RD Fishing Group is engaged in large scale fishing which is the core

business of RD Corporation. It is composed of four fishing companies, RD

Fishing Industry Inc, RD Tuna Ventures Inc, South Sea Fishing Ventures

Philippines, Inc, and Asia Pacific Allied Fishing Ventures Corp.

1.5 The function of MIS department in RD Fishing Industry

The MIS department is broadly refers to a computer-based system that

provides managers with tools to organize, evaluate and efficiently manage

departments within an organization. To provide past, present, and prediction

information, MIS department can include software that helps in decision-making,

data resources such as databases, the hardware resources of a system, decision

support systems, people management and project management applications,

and any computerized processes that enable the department to run efficiently.

MIS department is consisting of hardware and software that serves as the

backbone of an organization’s operations.
