Barksdale’s Series II valve provides an optimal solution by

combining the dependable features of our heavy duty Shear-Seal®
valves with the reliability of a rack and pinion pilot actuator, all in one

integrated package. With the ability to handle high velocity flows at

pressures up to 6000 psi and tolerate contaminated medias, the

Series II valve becomes the choice for the toughest applications where vir-

tually zero-leakage* is a must.

Series II Valve
With Barksdale, Pressure is Under Control
The Series II valve features an integrated rack and
pinion pilot actuator that can be operated by either
80 psi air or 250 psi hydraulic pressure. This pro-
vides the opportunity for remotely actuating the
valve from a master control panel or automated
control system.

By incorporating the pilot actuator into one integrat-

ed package, Barksdale has eliminated the frequent
problems of conventional piloting methods.
• No clevis pivot points that can wear out
• No additional cylinder mounting brackets that
must be in perfect alignment
• No cylinder stops that must be set-up at
installation
The Series II valve comes fully adjusted for accu-
rate shifting to all positions and is ready for installa-
tion.
Designed For Tough Duty
For over 50 years, Barksdale Shear-Seal® technolo-
gy has proven to be dependable in the toughest
industrial applications. This is the same sealing
technology utilized in the Series II valve family
which allows media to flow through internal galleries
in the sealing components rather than across sensi-
tive sealing faces. Therefore, metallic particles or
other contaminates commonly found in fluid power
systems are handled with ease and without causing
damage that can lead to leakage.
The Series II valve is constructed of bronze and
stainless steel, providing superior corrosion resist-
ance in marine service and other harsh industrial
environments. Internal components are hardened
400 Series Stainless Steel providing compatibility
with most common medias.

The Series II valve is designed to provide a flexible
solution to a large variety of applications. Some key
