The new Gira Dual Q smoke alarm device is equipped with two detection processes and
thus achieves twice the level of safety. It visually identifies small smoke particles before
the situation gets too precarious and dangerous for people. In addition, thermal sensors
measure temperature changes within the room. In this way various types of fires, such as
liquid fire, can be registered more rapidly and reliably identified.

Alarm behaviour can also be better controlled in areas with unavoidable interferences such
as kitchen vapours, dust and electrical interference. The service life of the permanently
installed battery is guaranteed to be at least 10 years. For even more safety, convenience
and efficiency, the functions of the Gira Dual Q smoke alarm device can be networked and
expanded through optionally available devices.

Connection to the KNX system

The Gira KNX module, which is available as an option, allows users to connect the Gira
Dual Q smoke detector to a KNX system. As a result, fault messages from a smoke alarm
device can be registered and the source room pinpointed, which enables targeted initial
countermeasures to be put in train. Blinds and roller shutters can be automatically raised
and windows opened, for example. The front door can also be unlocked, the light along
escape routes switched on, and much more.

The KNX module is supplied with electricity via the KNX line. The device is backward
compatible and can therefore be used for Gira Dual/VdS smoke alarm devices too.
