INSTALLING STENI BIM TOOLS FOR REVIT 2017

1 REQIREMENTS BEFORE INTALLING

1. Working version of Revit 2017

2. Dowload Stenis BIM objects from steni.bimobject.com
a. Click on “Steni System Solution”/download and download .zip containing all
Steni Revit Families. (you need to register to download)
3. Download the “Steni Addin 2017.zip” file containing the actual add-in (Included in
this e-mail)
4. If you already have installed the addin for Revit 2016, skip to part 3- Migrating …

2 INNSTALLING THE SOFTWARE FROM SCRATCH (WINDOWS)

• Open you file-explorer and navigate to the following location:

o C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2017
• This is normally a hidden folder, so just copy the path above and paste it into your
explorer-window for easy access.
• Unzip the files from “Steni Addin 2017.zip” file to the folder above.

3 MIGRATING FROM REVIT 2016 TO REVIT 2017 (WINDOWS)

• Open you file-explorer and navigate to the following location:

o C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2016
• Copy the following files and folders:
o Steni-PlacePanelsAndFrames.addIn (file)
o Steni (folder)
o FamilyTemplates2016 (folder)
• Navigate to the following location
o C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2017
• Paste the files you just copied into this folder
• Rename the folder ‘FamilyTemplates2016’ to ‘FamilyTemplates2017’

4 COMMON

• Import the families from the family.zip that you got from bimobject.com into your
project
• You are good to go.
