Announcements...
​ What We Did This Week…
I am thankful for all the students and parents. I really
appreciate how much enthusiasm the students come with
each and every day. I am also thankful for all the
supports you provide at home. Have a wonderful
Thanksgiving.
If your child missed any school this week, please remind
them to check the absence folder when they return and
have them make up all missed work including warm ups.

Ask Your Child…

This week, each student created an Instagram poster.
They each chose an essential nutrient of their choice to
make an informational Instagram.
Then, we turned our attention to nutritional labels and
planning a healthy meal. We discussed serving size and
looking closely at how many servings you would typically
eat of a food item. We also discussed that the ingredients
are in order of how much of that ingredient is in the
produce. As a class we looked at the label for strawberry
Pop Tarts. It says made with real fruit…dried strawberries
is in the middle of all the other ingredients, along with lots
of sugar items. Students looked at nutritional labels and
compared the information for their food item to a partner’s
and selected which would be a better item to have on a
menu.
