The nation of Panem, established on what the United States was in the past is a conglomerate

formed by 12 poor districts controlled by the rich Capitol. The attempted rebellion of the districts
ended the submission of 12 of them and the destruction of the other.

As punishment for "the Dark Days", and so that they do not forget them, every year the 12
districts must deliver a boy and a girl between 12 and 18 years in a public "Harvest", and the
chosen ones must compete with each other to get rid of others, getting who gets a luxurious life,
in what they call "The Hunger Games". Katniss Everdeen, a 16-year-old girl lives in District 12 and
is one of the few people who dares to leave the district's boundaries to hunt animals with her bow
that she can later sell to feed her family.

Before the hunger games start, the tributes are interviewed on television by Caesar Flickerman,
depending how they manage this interview they get sponsors. After this, the capitol explains to
them the rules that they must follow, warning them that most of them will die from natural
causes, after which they begin training so that they know the rules of survival, observing that
some of them are very professionalized. They must try please the sponsors, because the more
they like the more opportunities they will have to win, since they can provide them with gifts such
as food, medicine and tools that can help them survive. They are housed in dream rooms,
assigned stylists, being Cinna, an innovator who helps him polish his appearance, wearing a suit
that attracts the attention of the attendees to the gala presentation of taxes, since it leaves fire
and that helps them get more sponsors. Finally, and before the true games start, they go to an
evaluation in which they will have to show their skills being very important to obtain a good grade
for the sponsors. All the survivors need something special, and the organizers decide to give it to
them, noting that they will deliver them in the Cornucopia, an open place, which they should
approach if they wish to obtain it, risking that the others end up there with them.

At the end of the movie Peeta Mellark and Katniss Everdeen win the hunger games by doing a trick
that doesn’t make happy the president Snow, so he sacrifices Seneca Crane blaming him because
what Katniss and Peeta did.
