Banner University Medical Center

Tucson, AZ 85719

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my interest in starting my nursing career as a member of the Banner University Medical
Center. I have a strong passion in pediatrics and neonatal care. I will be graduating with my Bachelor of Science
in Nursing degree from the College of Nursing at the University of Arizona in December 2019. I am looking for
an opportunity to work for an organization that shares my goal of providing exceptional health care to patients
and their families with compassion. BUMC’s values of compassion, dignity, excellence, integrity and striving to
exceed quality care mirrors the principles that led me to this profession. BUMC is an organization I would feel
honored to work for.

The qualifications that make me an ideal candidate for this organization include: my effective interpersonal
skills, high standard of professionalism, my passion for delivering patient centric and high-quality care, my
well-developed critical thinking skills, and my ability to identify and solve problems. Through my education at
the University of Arizona, I have developed a strong nursing foundation based on holistic care and evidence-
based practice. I have implemented these skills and the nursing process through my completion of 1,065 clinical
hours with 180 hours towards my fourth semester preceptorship in a Post Critical Care Unit (PCCU).

My clinical experience at BUMC’s Diamond Children Center further strengthened my passion and desire to
provide integrated patient-family care in the pediatric and neonatal populations. The nurses on the unit exhibited
tremendous skill while still attending to the individual needs of the patients and their families to create a positive
environment and experience. These qualities are a representation of an organization that is innovative, team-
based, dedicated to education, and devoted to ensuring high-quality compassionate nursing care.

Can we meet to discuss in detail how my qualifications and experience will benefit your organization? My
resume is attached for your review. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Micah Johnson
