of 900.

Q 2. Determine the maximum effective aperture of a beam antenna having (HPBW) of 30° and
35° in perpendicular planes intersecting in the beam axis. Assume small side lobes?

Q 3. Calculate the gain of an antenna with a circular aperture of diameter 3 meters at a frequency
of 5GHz..

Q 4. Calculate the FBR ratio of an antenna in dB which radiates 3kW in its most optimum
direction and 500 watts in the opposite direction.

Q 5. Find the gain, beamwidth and capture area for a parabolic antenna with a 6 meters diameter
dish and dipole feed at a frequency of 10GHz.

Q 6. Calculate the approximate gain and beamwidth of a paraboloidal reflector antenna at

operating frequency 4GHz, diameter 20 meters and illumination efficiency 55%.

Q 7. An isotropic antenna radiates equally in all directions. The total power delivered to the
radiator is 100kW. Calculate the power density at distances of (i) 100meters, (ii) 1000
meters and (iii) 100000 meters.

Q 8. In a microwave communication link, two identical antenna operating at a10GHz are used
with power gain of 40dB. If the transmitter power is 1W, find the received power, if the
range of the link is 30Km.
