company profile
INTRODUCTION
The story of Pandora. Inc was established in September 2017, when a group of 7
friends wants to start a business in University life. Now they are officially the
owners of Pandora.Inc. These 7 great friends are Enrico Jose Dianta Ginting, Ivana
Nova Budyanti, Raymond Evan, Restu Ayu Adyesti, Satrio Katrtiko Nugroho, Siti
Thauhiria and Wilson. With the adding of member and extending the business, right
now Pandora Inc. has 20 members and 7 owners.

Pandora Inc. is a Company that accentuates innovation, elegance and comfortable


as the basic elements of products. The company is able to manufactures customers
directly include upper middle class of people, order and pre-order by online and
offline. In ordering process Pandora.Inc is able to serve customers directly and
additional channel through online order. Pandora. Inc offers high quality products
at competitive and affordable process, done by skilled vendor.

Create an innovative product that brings impact to both society and environment
itself.

Mission
Provide products that increase the life quality of people while decrease harmful
damage towards nature, by creating eco-friendly trendy product that can reduce
harmful damage towards the environment.

Chief Executive Officer:


The task for Chief Executive Officer is :
 Direct the company in keeping with the vision outlined for the company.
 Build a strong relationship between the founders and division to grow the
company, strengthen it and ensure its sutainability.
 Oversee quality control thorughout the company, establishing goals for each
department.
 Developing high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their
alignment with shor-term and long-term objectives.
 Leading and motivating subordinates to advance employee develop a high
performing.
 Overseeing all operation business and activities to ensure they produce the
desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission.

Finance and Accounting:


The task for Finnance and Accounting Department is:

 Responsible to make a financial planning, analysis, and projection for
company.
 Forecast future revenues and expenditures to establish cost structures.
 Determine capital budgeting.
 Prepares monthly statements by collecting daa; analyzing and investigating
variances; summariing data and information.
 Accomplishes finance and company mission by completing related results
as needed.

Production and Operation Department:


The task for Production Department is:
 Planning and organising production schedules.
 Assesing project and resource requirements.
 Estimating, negotiating, and agreeing budgets with the vendor.
 Determining quality control standards.
 Overseeing production process.
 Selecting, ordering, and purchasing materials.

Marketing and Selling Department:


The task for Marketing Department is
 Develop and oversee marketing campaigns to promote producst and
services.
 Conducting research and analyzing data to identify and define the
audiences.
 Devising and presenting ideas and strategies.
 Promotional activities.
 Maintaining social media such as Line and Instagram .
 Monitoring performance.
 Mananging campaigns on social media.

Product profile
Plastic give an impact for the environment from production, consumption, to
disposal, it produces high carbon emissions that contribute to climate change as the
earth gets heated up. The source of plastic bags made from petroleum, which is a
non-renewable natural resource, causes environmental pollution in developing
countries because its factory wastes are dumped into rivers and the burning of
methane gas causes carbon emissions into the air. It is dangerous for a human
because plastic bag that is burned can cause air pollution and respiratory distress.
In addition, plastic bags used as food containers have the potential to interfere with
human health because toxins in plastic bags can move to food. Wallet become one
of the way to decrease a plastic bag user. Here, we as the part of Pandora. Inc
produce a product that are very useful to reduce and recycle used goods to be
innovative goods with patchwork.

The recycling industry now has a thin margin due to the imposition of value added
tax. Products sold by the recycling industry are subject to VAT, whereas industry
players cannot collect VAT from plastic waste raw materials purchased from
scavengers. The price of recycled plastic products is currently around Rp7.800 per
kilogram. On the other hand, the recycling industry spent about Rp5.800 per
kilogram for used plastic bottles and spent production costs between Rp1.800-
Rp2.000 per kilogram. This is a demand of plastic bag in Indonesian Area. Tote
wallet is a one way to reduce a plastic bag user.

The strategy of production and operation
Pandora Inc. Company is a new startup company. This company decided to build
cooperation with a vendor to minimize the cost and get high quality product. The
company builds cooperation with 2 vendors in order to make the production faster.
The company decided to ready stock at first then change to pre order.

Detail of material and production planning


The detail activities of production and operation are explained as below.

Planned Production
In the planning process there are several process, initial idea and design was a tote
bag that can be a box. But with many consideration, the idea transform into wallet
that can be a tote bag. Then, the team determines the design and dimensions of the
products.

The dimensions of products are shown below.


 The Wallet before transform into a bag: Width 14cm, Height 16cm.
 The Bag after transform from the wallet: Width 32cm, Height 29cm

Materials

The materials that were used for the first production phase (25bags) are any kind of
unused cotton drill (fabric waste). The first production used cotton drill as the basic
materials taken from an unused canvas drawstring bag. But for the second and third
production phase used new cotton drill because the customer want to choose the
color. For the unused material the costumer could not choose color.

Wall-T was produced in 2 different vendors, but basically the process production is
all the same. First, the production will receive the order list. Then the production
team will prepare the necessary material for the production process. After that the
production team will brief the vendor the basic outlook of the design and negotiate
the material and pricing. After the briefing and negotiation, the pattern will be
drawn and measured. Then the materials will be cut according to the pattern, and
sewn together to create the product. Next is the finishing, adding the zips, straps,
and other necessary touch. After some quality check, the product is ready to be
taken and should be packed by the production team.

PERSONNEL
CASEY Co. has seven employees (the structure can be seen on previous chapter).
CASEY Co. has one joint venture which is the taylow. The tailor can be categorized

From the figure, the chain start from the fabric vendor which provide the raw
material of cotton drill. The cotton drill is then kept in the inventory material. After
that the cotton drill delivered to the tailor by the production team member. in the
tailor, the cotton drill will be sewed and completed with zipper to produce Wall-T.

There is another start from the packaging vendor. Then the Wall-T will be packed
with the packaging. After that, the packaged Wall-T will be distributed by to the
customers.

QUALITY CONTROL
In producing Wall-T the quality of the cotton drill and sewing result are crucial.
The color of the cotton drill from the vendor sometimes are different with the
ordered one. There might also be dirt spot in the cotton and different structure in
the cotton. To control the quality of the cotton, the production team members

directly go to the vendor to check the color and the cotton drill quality before
purchasing it.

To pass the quality control of the sewing, the sewing should accordance with the
pattern and no thread that out of the stiches. No control the sewing quality, the
production team member visit the vendor and check the sewing at the fourth, eighth
and ninth day after the sewing process began. At the tenth day, the process should
be finished and brought by the production team member to be packed.

“four ps” of marketing
There are 4P’s marketing that used in marketing and sales strategies section which
are:

a. Product
Pandora.Inc product is Wall-T. Wall-T is a tote bag that can change form into a
wallet, by change it into a wallet. The customer can save some space and easy to
store it when it is not being used. It also has outside and inside pocket, the customer
can store hand phone, money and other small things inside the pocket. Wall-T can
be used when customer want to go shopping, studying in campus, or just take a
walk outside. By using Wall-T customer can reduce the use of plastic bag when
shopping to save and protect the environment.

b. Price
CASEY.Co target market is for all people from teenager to mature woman
especially for low to middle income. Thus, our company make a survey for the
competitors and for the customer to find the best price for the customer and
Pandora.In. Survey result from competitors in online shops shows that the range of
custom case phone are around IDR 50,000 – IDR 70,000.

The second survey is conduct with the target customers. The survey is taken by
asking the Pandora.Inc prototype to the President University students which we
group as middle-low income customer. After seeing the prototype of KEPO,
respondents says that they would like to buy KEPO (KEsing KEpo) if the price is
IDR 45,000 – IDR 60,000. After conducting two surveys which are competitors
price and customer needs, we come up with the affordable price for the customer
which is about IDR 55,000.

c, Place
Pandora.Inc is an online business company where we sell our products by online.
The place of sale in online business is a site or a marketplace in the social networks.
The customer can easily find and order our product. Only by adding and chat our
official account in Instagram (@pandorakuyy) and LINE (@kqc4921r) the
customer can order and get a gorgeous from Pandora.Inc. All of customer around
the world can also access to see and buy our product.

d, Promotion
Promotion is the business of communicating with customers. It will provide
information that will assist them in making a decision to purchase a product or
service. The promotion method that used in our company is we spread the
advertisement in the social media such as LINE and Instagram. There is no cost for
our company in using online advertisement in LINE and Instagram.

In the beginning process of our company, we make a promotion by spreading the


information about Pandora. Inc company to the customers, we tried to attract the
customer by explain our company orally to the customer and ask the customer to
add and follow our official account. After lots of customer knows our company, it
is the time for us to launch our product using our official account. The
advertisement for the product will be spread in a whole pre-order week at 12 P.M..

Target market
Market segmentation is the process of dividing the market into segments or
groups according to the customer’s needs and characteristics. Market
segmentation helps marketers identify understand the various groups of possible
customers. This allows marketers to tailor their offerings to meet the exact needs
of one or all of the segmented markets (Marketing 101, 2008).

Pandora Inc. Company produce multifunction bag that known as WALL-T


(wallet and tote bag). So, Pandora Inc. Company’s market segmentation is based
on the gender and age. For gender itself will be divided into female and male.

Although the tote bag is not really common in among male, but WALL-T comes
with a color that matches with the taste of male.

The market segmentation based on the age will be categorized as below:

For age 15 until 19 is categorized as teenagers because teenagers follow the


trends. Teenagers have their own taste, attitude, and outlook. Teenagers interest
in new things, they curious about what happen in nowadays, what’s going on
nowadays, etc. For age 20 until 24 is categorized as young adults because young
adults think about the function of the product that also can support their outlook.
For age 25 – 45 categorized as mature and also have the biggest buying power
because the costumer has their own income. For age 46 until 64 is categorized as
middle age because will be think the priority of their need even though the
costumer has their own income. For age above 65 is categorized as elderly
because the costumer just looking for something based on the necessity or the
needs that can support individual needs. The segment region for Pandora Inc.
Company is Cikarang, Bekasi, Jakarta, and Karawang.

Pandora Inc. Company target market is for teenagers to mature especially


woman. For teenagers, they are pay attention about their appearance and follows
the trend. For young adults, they have purchasing power, because most of them
have job and also have their own income. And for mature, because WALL-T has
multifunction so some adult will consider buying it, moreover the price is also

affordable. Moreover, for the target market region, Pandora Inc. Company
chooses Bekasi region.

Marketing and selling planning and process


Marketing will include an initial opening in social media such as LINE and
Instagram. The sounding poster will be design by Ivana Nova and Ayu Rizki. Our
target market is for teenager to mature especially low to middle income so we will
make and spread the advertisement to all people through Instagram and LINE. From
the social media, our target market can reache all regions in Indonesia even
overseas.

The first marketing and selling strategy from Pandora.Inc is direct selling where the
marketing department make a personal approach to the customer. The marketing
department also use online or media social strategy to promote the product. The
media social that used to promote the product is LINE and Instagram.

In the first planning, our company plan to spread the advertisement in a whole pre-
order week. The advertising time to spread is in the afternoon at 12 pm in a lunch
time. We choose 12 pm because most of people will play the cell phone in the break
time and have a much time to see the advertisement. All of the founders will make
a sounding attack which we spread the advertisement in the same time to all of
group and time line in social media. All founders will change the profile pictures in
the LINE become Pandora.Inc logo in the same time. The contact person in the
advertisement will be our official account @kqc4921r for LINE and for the
Instagram is @pandorakuyy. For the customer that want to order the case can
directly add and chat the official account.

In the reality, the advertisement and the pre-order are only spread for 3 days. This
is because the demand from the customer is already a lot which is around 74. Our
company afraid that small number of people the production will takes much time.
Our promise to customer is we will distributed the case phone maximum 2 weeks

after close the pre-order. If we cannot keep the promise the customer will be
disappointed. The next pre-order will be open after the first order already finished.

Detail of activity and progress of marketing


and selling
The activity of Marketing and Selling department started at September 26th, 2017.
The first activity that conduct is making the social media as the place to promote
and sell our product. The activity that have been done by the Marketing and Selling
Department is introducing company name, introducing product name, announce the
pre-order, receiving the order, announcing close pre-order, make a list of order,
receive the payment from the customer, and shipping the case. Here is the detail of
the activity of Marketing and Selling Department.

Based on the open pre-order in October 2nd, 2017 the product that have been order
by the customer is 74 units. The detail product is shown on the table below:

Based on the information from Production Department, not all of the product that
have been order by the customer is available. The raw material which is premium
soft case is not available for all of the phone’s type especially for the last edition
cell phone. Then, based on the data from the Production Department, the cell phone
case that can be produced is 49 units. The others 25 units that have been order by
the customer will be cancelled. After get the fixed customer, it is the time for the
Marketing and Selling Department to collect the money from the customer. Our
marketing and selling strategy is “First Pay, First Serve”. Thus, the customer have
make an payment after that the product can be process in Production Department.

marketing control
Marketing controls are constantly analyzed to determine how the plan’s actual
performance compares to the projections. Marketing control can help the marketing
and selling departments develop effective performance measurement indicators.

a, Customer Feedback
Marketing is designed to persuade consumers to purchase a product or invest in a
service. One control that used in marketing control is customer feedback through
polls, survey and testimony. In here the Marketing and Selling department make an
individual interviews with the customer. Interview the customer related to our latest
marketing plan such as product or price. For example, before introduce the product
price to the customer, the Marketing and Selling Department make a survey and ask
the affordable price that customer willing to pay for the products. From the survey
the customer feedback is they want to buy if the price is between IDR 45.000 – IDR
50.000. Thus, the Marketing and Selling Department collaborate with Production
Department to make a product based on that price. Not only that after shipping the
product the Marketing and Selling Department always ask the customer about the
feedback, is it meet their satisfaction or not.

b, Target Market Sales


Marketing and Selling Department have to determine the effect of the plan on the
target market. Marketing and Selling Department always compared the target
market with the marketing plan projection. For instance, the target market for our
company is all people that have low to medium income, then the Marketing and
Sales Department have to ensure if the sales report match the target market. If there
is a decrease in sales, the Marketing and Sales Department have to make further
market research to see why the target market is not responding to the marketing.

c, Budgeting
Marketing and Selling Department have to controls and monitoring the marketing
budget. We have to minimize the spending and maximize the profitability. Our
company using online business concept. Thus, every activity to promote our
business is using a social media such as LINE and Instagram. The purpose choosing
social media as our promotion is to minimize the cost in promoting our product.
Thus, our Marketing and Selling Department choose using social media as our
advertisement media to erase our promotion expenses.

d, Market Share
Market share is the percentage of consumer sales dominated by the product. Our
Company have a several competitors related to the phone case. Our company main
target is dominates the market share in President University. Based on the first pre-
order the sales is reach 2% of all product sold into the President University
marketplace. Whereas the target market for our company is we want dominate 10%
market in President University. From the first pre-order we see that the sales are far
away from the target market share. Thus, the Marketing and Selling Department
have to find and improve the selling strategy. For example, in the first pre-order the
Marketing and Selling Department focused in advertisement using media social can
improve by finding more customer outside the President University students such
as tokopedia, lazada and shopee.
FINANCE and
ACCOUNTING
FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING STRATEGY
The Finance and Accounting Strategy used in CASEY.co is Value Chain Strategy.
Value Chain strategy is strategy to inspect all the expense in each flow, and
optimizing it by minimizing all the expense made. In other word is to cutting all the
unnecessary expense.

Detail of activity progress of finance and


accounting
Since CASEY.Co is a new company, it need capital. The capital is gather from each
co-founders of CASEY.Co that invest IDR 100,000. There are 7 co-founder and
made the total capital of IDR 700,000. The capital is used for prototyping and as
the capital to but the jeans fabrics.

Casey.co develop the low price product that lead to low profit but allows high
number of unit sales. This strategy is chosen to attract customers and promote
Casey.co which is new to the market. To sell KEPO with low price, all the expense
should be minimized.

The biggest expense in the whole process is buying the soft case. The strategy to
minimize the case cost is to buy it online because it is cheaper than the price
surveyed in the phone center (Sentra Grosir Cikarang). There are a lot of discount
from online shopping web like Shoppe and Tokopedia. And there is also free
delivery with minimum payment. So, it is important to buy more at a time to get
free delivery.

Other expense is to buy the jeans fabric. After surveying the SGC and Tambun
district that filled with fabric seller, all the price for the fabric is expensive around
IDR 60,000 unitl IDR 120,000 per meter . Then after keep searching, a cheaper
jeans fabric is found in Cipadu with the price of IDR 35,000/ meter.
For the packing expense, the first idea is to buy a clear plastic bag with zipper.
However it is expensive. So, the packaging is eliminate.

The first idea of finding tailor in SGC is also eliminated since the transportation fee
will be big if we keep going there. At the end, the vendor is on Pasimal near
President University with fee IDR 15,000/case.

Based on the Finance and Accounting Department analysis and consideration about
cost and revenue, the price that suitable for the Company and customer is IDR
50,000 with profit of IDR 14,000 per unit.

From the table it can be seen that the sale will come from Price Per Unit (IDR
50,000) times the unit sold. For the cost there will be trial cost, fixed cost and
variable cost. The Trail cost is come from:

The table shows that the trial expense is come from the case, tailor service,
transportation and a glue that shows the total of IDR 267,500. The Variable costs

From the calculation it shows that the BEP is 25 units. This shows that when
CASEY.Co can sell 25 case, it will be in the Break Even Point where the company
didn’t have surplus or minus.
a, Financial Planning and Process
Now, as the Pre Order 1 is closed, CASEY.Co start to search the availability of the
customer’s order. If the order is available, Customer will be asked to pay for what
they had order. The payment methods are cash and transfer to Two Back account 24
which are Dita’s Mandiri account and Yogie’s BCA Account.

All Members are allowed to receive money from customers who want to pay cash.
This cash money will then be kept by Ryan. To track the transaction history, all
cash inflow is being written down directly by each of CASEY.Co member in the
group line account with the format like down below:

From the figure above, it can be seen that Mutiara make a note on line with the title
of Pembayaran 10 October 2017. In this note, other member can comment all the
transaction that occur in that day. All the cash money kept by Ryan then will be 25
stored to Yogie’s BCA account.

If the customer pay by transfer, CASEY.Co should upload the transaction


proof/receipt when they comment in the note. From the figure it can be that Gresylia
make a comment that Kelvin Sanjaya had paid already via transfer. The statement
“this feature is not supported on the OS you are using” is the attachment of the
receipt photo. If there are customers transfer via Mandiri bank, it will go to Dita’s
Bank account, and Dita will transfers it to Yogie’s account.

After get the money from the customer, the money will be our source to buy the
rubber phone case. With this method of Preorder, make CASEY.Co did not need
more capital that should be gathered by each member.

Next, all the available stock of casing from the Shoppe and Tokopedia are listed
down, and are being order to be bought. The bought process in an online shop
should considered the minimal order unit to get free delivery and/or discount price
for each casing.

The data of the customer order will be compiled to excel. The date of the customer
order, phone type are listed as well with the initial of the CASEY.Co that receive

From the inflow is from the shareholder investment with the total IDR 700,000.
And the unit sold is 49 units with the total of IDR 2,450,000. And for the outflow
is for buying the soft case, the jeans fabric, glue, tailor service, transportation and 27
trial expense.

This make the total cash inflow is IDR 3,150,000 while the total cash outflow is
IDR 1,824,500. This make the cash balance at the end Pre Order is IDR 1,325,500.

b, Financial Control
Since there already the fix flow in tracking down each transaction per day in the
Line notification, it is very easy to track and control the transaction.

There is a problem to full fill all the order since the varies of the cell phone is very
high. The rarity of the phone case force the company to only able to buy one or two
or three case type in a online shop, this increase the variable cost for a product.
However this increasing price is being balanced with the phone cases that bought
from the low cost cell and grace shop online that is just IDR 15,000 where the ideal
price of rubber case taken for calculating the BEP is IDR 20,000.

c, Forecast Projection
It is projected that the Pre Order will be opened once in two months or 6 time in a
year. The projection will be project for the next 3 years. So there will be total of 18
Pre-orders. From the Cash Flow Projection Table, it can be seen from the cash
inflow, only in the 1st year there will be share holder income since it was made as
the start-up business. The following year’s cash balance is come from the cash
balance at the end of the previous year.

In the first year it is projected the the total unit KEPO sold is 294 unit. For the
second year’s it is projected that the total unit sold will be increase to 350 unit, and
in the third year will increase again to 400 unit. The cash flow projection table
shows that by the end of the year three, there will be IDR 12,626,500 for the cash
balance at the end of year.

After assigned to each positions, all the employees performance are still low
however as they practices it, the performance increase and work well.

For example in the production position occupied by Rianita and Dita. Unlike Dita
who oftenly online shopping, Rianita is unskilled in ordering the soft case on online
shops. However after one time ordering it with trial and error and taught by Dita,
now can order it fast by considering the cheapest price and free delivery.

For the finance and accounting position occupied by Yogie and Ryan. At first they
do not understand how to transfer the payment to the Shoppe through virtual
account, but now they are skilled.

a, Human Resource Management Planning and Allocation


The plan in distributing the job is done with considerations of their experiences,
their changes on success in handling the department, and also by partner the
inexperience employee with the experience one. The departments are:
 Finance and Accounting department: Yogie and Ryan has accommodation
to go to the ATM and transfer money to pay and cross check the customer
who already paid. They are also skilled in making financial report.
 Marketing and Selling Department: Muti is placed in this position because
she is experienced in handling social media accounts such as Line @, and
Instagram. While Gresylia placed in this position because she has wide
connections and very detail in realizing customer needs and wants.
 Production and Operation Department: Rianita and Dita are placed in this
department because they are aware of materials and very detail in inspecting
the process and the quality the end product.
