AUTOMATED SUPPLY MODULE

DL 10017

Microlab Laboratory
DL 10017

1. GENERALITIES

The supply module DL 10017 has been planned to satisfy the requires of the MICROLAB electric
machine laboratory: all the deliveries are increased as regards the power effectively required by the
machines under test.

The regulation of the ac/dc variable voltages can be carried out manually by the operator or
automatically by means of the DE LORENZO data acquisition system and relative software.

The safety of the operator is guaranteed by a differential magnetothermic general switch and by a
particular connector for the connection of the maximum speed protection of the machines under
test.

All the variable voltage outputs with single control are protected by magnetothermic automatic
while the direct current output that can be manually varied is protected by magnetothermic circuit
breaker.

Since all the output circuit are galvanically isolated from the mains and they are carried out in low
voltage the safety standards are implicitly satisfied.

2. ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS

The module DL 10017 is arranged in the factory for a three-phase supply voltage corresponding to
the local mains.

Before connecting the supply cable to the mains it is a good idea to check that the voltage is the one
shown in the data plate placed on the back of the module.

2.1. Alternating current outputs.

a) Variable voltage from 0 to 26 V/14 A.
b) Variable voltage from 0 to 46 V/10 A.

2.2. Rectified direct current outputs with double three-phase bridge.

a) Variable voltage from 0 to 32 V/14 A.
b) Variable voltage from 0 to 46 V/14 A.

2.3 Rectified direct current outputs with double single phase bridge.
Variable voltage from 0 to 42 V/5 A.

2.4 Mains output.

On the back of the module a single phase socket with fixed voltage is available.

2.5 Maximum speed protection.

The K1 multipolare connector, when it is eventually connected to the analogue connector set
on the equipments for the reading of the rotation speed, provides a protection against the
escape speed of the direct current motors.
As a matter of fact these installations are equipped with a threshold circuit that provides a
signal suitable to deactivate the module DL 10017 each time the speed exceeds the value for
which the protection has been foreseen.

4. OPERAZIONI PRELIMINARI

The module DL 10017 has to be connected to the supply three-phase mains by means of the back
cable.
After having checked the value of the mains voltage and the one shown on the data plate, the
conductors (3P+N+PE) have to be connected respecting the shown cyclic direction of the phases.

The PE earth connection has to be connected to an efficient dispersion element.

4.1 Supply

After having connected the module DL 10017 to the three-phase mains, close the Q1 differential
magnetothermic switch Q1 set on the back..
The mains voltage is present: the back XS socket is active.
In these conditions it is possible to use only the direct current variable output 0 ÷ 42 V/5 A, closing
the S10 switch (on position): the H3 lamp switches on and the output voltage at the corresponding
terminals (X11 – X12) can be regulated by means of the T1A knob.
We remember that the T1A voltage changer is protected by means of the F magnetothermic circuit
breaker.

ver a 20110415 5
DL 10017

4.2 K1 maximum speed connector

The deliveries of the ac/dc variable voltages controlled in "man" or "auto" mode are possible only if
the protection remote controlled switch internal to the module DL 10017 is enabled.

All the MICROLAB equipments foreseeing an instrument for the measurement of the machine
rotation speed are equipped with a connector identified with the abbreviation K1: this connector has
to be connected to the analogue K1 connector of the module DL 10017 by means of the suitable
cable supplied with the equipment themselves each time that we want to foresee the protection
against the maximum speed and this to enable the internal remote controlled switch in lower speed
conditions at the limit foreseen for the intervention of the protection itself that, disabling the remote
controlled switch, nullifies the delivery.
Alternatively, of no maximum speed protection is foreseen, the it is possible to enable the internal
remote controlled switch by using the flying connector equipped with the module DL 10017: in this
case no protection is foreseen and the delivery can be nullified only with the intervention of the
operator on the output switches or on the "off" palm push-button.

N.B.: If the K1 connector of the module DL 10017is not connected the internal remote controlled
switch is not enabled and no ac/dc variable delivery is possible.

5. START-UP

The regulation of the direct voltage 0 ÷ 42 V/5 A is possible only manually by means of the T1A
knob (see point 4.1).

The regulation of the ac/dc variable voltages can be carried out manually by the operator or
automatically by means of the software.

6. MAINTENANCE

The supply module DL 10017 has no need of any special maintenance intervention.

In case of bad operation, or of fault, AFTER HAVING DISCONNECTED THE MODULE FROM
THE THREE-PHASE MAINS, remove the upper cover and look inside: check that the components
(switches, selectors, lamps...) and the electrical connections are efficient.

Check the fuse placed on the control electronic card of the motor.

When you think that the module DL 10017 needs some particular interventions, we suggest to call a
specialized staff of to call De Lorenzo.
