Firewall disable

Please assign the ip address of laptop which should be in same subnet of ESB card.

Put file named ESBB2DGX.BIN in Tftpd32 folder in program files in C drive (Folder will automatically be visible
after installation)

Connect BSC ESB Cards in LANU - 0, 1 SER-Port using RJ-45 at BSC End and D9 at Laptop
End, Connect laptop using LAN also in same card in any of the ETH port .

Start TFTP server. The IP allotted to laptop must reflect in TFTP.

Then ping the IP of the ESB from LAPTOP. The ping must be successful.

Open New reflection Session

Connect using Serial Connection - Parity - 8/none

Password – provide the password

ESB24>en

Check the current software version and date to avoid unnecessary upgrades.

ESB24>sh flash

Take a back-up copy of the switch’s configuration file by uploading it to the FTP or TFTP server.

ESB24>copy running-config startup-config

ESB24>copy tftp config upload startup-config

-- IP address or name of remote host (TFTP) : Provide the ip address of FTP server
i.e.Laptop Ip in this case.
-- Upload File Name [running] : file name (ABCD)

ESB24>copy tftp os download os1

IP address or name of remote host (TFTP) : Provide ip address of FTP server i.e. Laptop.
Download File Name : ESB binos file name.

ESB24>default-os os1
ESB24>reload os1
y
y

The system will take a reboot after this.


Password: provide Password.
ESB24>en
ESB24>show flash

To download the Configuration file from Laptop/FTP server to ESB. This is required only in case
we have performed reload to default configuration of ESB.

ESB24>copy tftp config download startup-config

IP address or name of remote host (TFTP) : Provide ip address of FTP server i.e. Laptop.
Upload File Name [running] : file name (ABCD).

ESB24>sh startup-config.

It must be same as before the activity.
