Video Intro (5 seconds)
VOICEOVER Do you feel like there is poor communication between you and your team members, which causes you to feel distant and unmotivated at work? The lack of a strong and positive team environment can really make the workplace unenjoyable. Let’s dive into the needs of the team and figure out why there is such a division between the individuals, then figure out a way to bring the team together. Clip/Image Office Team Working Individually (30 seconds) VOICEOVER When building a strong and effective team, it is important that each individual to be on the same page. By having a common goal, creating team building activities, and having open communication between members of the team, one can create a positive work culture where everyone feels comfortable and valued. I know from personal experience, the team I worked in had a lot of trouble with communication. We had a lot of issues getting along due to attitudes of certain members of the team. This creates a toxic work environment and makes people feel unvalued. Clip/Image of Team Meeting (30 seconds) VOICEOVER We need to start by asking some questions that identify the team’s strengths and weaknesses. This allows us to figure out the root of the problem and develop a training plan that can lead the company to success. For example, are there conflicts between certain members of the team? Do team members need to get to know one another better? Or, perhaps maybe the group needs a morale boost? Answering these questions will help lead to a successful team building experience. Clip of Office Barbecue (10 seconds) -> Clip of Holiday Party (10 seconds) VOICEOVER We should also keep in mind, that everyone on our team has different needs and different personalities. Team members should get to know each other, and a great way to create these connections is by having activities outside the workplace - such as team barbecues or holiday parties. Getting to know your team members helps increase your ability to connect and empathize. Clip of Team Interacting (20 seconds) VOICEOVER Along with creating connections, it is necessary to have a common goal that each member is working towards. By creating a written mission statement, it can put everyone on the same page. Having this common goal unites the team and makes clear what it is we are working towards. Clip of Team Huddle (20 seconds) VOICEOVER It takes time for a strong team to be built, but by identifying the weaknesses and finding a way to develop stronger skills, we will have a more motivated and connected team. Remember to look out for each other and recognize each other’s accomplishments. Motivate one another and create a positive and welcoming environment. After all, its team work that makes the dream work! Outro (5 sec)
