Summarize the Assignment:

The idea of this assignment is to force students to think deeper into what they want to do with
their future. This is done by choosing a career that you have the most interest in and conducting specific
research on just that field of work. After the research is completed, you were then instructed to submit
a reflection on what you had learned about your researched job. The reflection was to include topics
such as salary, what one’s day-to-day looks like, what education is needed, etc.

How did you select a career, conduct research, and take notes?

I had selected this career because of the results that I had received after completed a precious
assignment that we had about our personalities, the Holland Code Career Test. All the options that were
listed that were selected for me based on my results were management positions, one of them being a
Human Resources Manager. I conducted the research by using the website that was provided to us in
the following assignment, CareerOneStop, and locating all the information that was required of us.
Taking notes was a simple task because before completing any writing assignment, it helps me to
process all of the information on paper before typing.

What did you learn in this assignment?

Something that I learned in this assignment is that I need to be more open minded to the
possibility of having a career in the management field and loving it. I always thought that because of my
personality type, one who isn’t afraid to speak her mind but is also very much an introvert, that I
wouldn’t fit in such a powerful role which then caused me to not even take it into consideration.
Another learning experience for me during this assignment was how much of the abilities and skills that
were required for the position, I saw in myself. After completing this assignment, I was surprised at
myself for thinking that this career choice could be good for me, but I will never know if I don’t at least
try.
