Subject: Multi-Aspect Comparison for Lighting on New Sign
Hello,
After I have thoroughly conducted my research, I have concluded that the LED lights would be
the better choice for our new sign. The other choice available are Neon lights. However, LED
lights are more cost efficient, last longer, and can range in multiple colors whereas Neon lights
are more costly, the life span is shorter, and the lights available are limited.

Price Differences
The Upfront cost of Neon lights may be less expensive by $2,000 but the overall quarterly cost
for maintenance and utility are more expensive. Neon lights maintenance fee and Utility cost is
$350 per quarter. LED lights maintenance fee and utility costs are $145 per quarter. That is a
$205 difference per quarter with Neon lights versus Led lights.

Life Expectancy
Neon lights life expectancy is shorter than Led lights. Neon lights are only expected to hold a
light source of 4 to 5 years. That is 5 years less than LEDs’ life expectancy of light source, which
is 5 to 10 years. Additionally, if we were to select Neon lights, not only would have to spend
more on maintenance and utility but also replacing them as well.

Colors
Lastly, LED Lighting would be more beneficial to ACME Inc. because they can come in all
colors. Neon lights only provide three colors, Orange, White, and Blue. Furthermore, LED lights
also has programmable color changes. This gives the LED lights the ability to change color
according to a program. Programmable color changes are not available with Neon lights, making
the color options limited.
In conclusion, I recommend the LED lights because not only does my research support my
claims, but it shows that LED lights would be more cost efficient. Other benefits of LED lights
are their life expectancy, this means that we won’t have to change them out as often. Lastly, LED
lights could promote marketing or advertising because we would have a variety of color in our
new sign to potentially attract more clients.
