BW Wellness Core Curriculum

Wellness Resource Assignment

Objectives:
 Engage in wellness activities provided on the BW campus.
 Gain information about wellness resources and how these can be used to further personal wellness
goals in the six Dimensions of Wellness.

Guidelines for Assignments:

 Instructors should go over the National Wellness Institute’s (NWI) Six Dimensions of
Wellness and have students complete a wellness assessment. (Sample PowerPoint and
assessment will be provided.)

 Complete process questions to reflect on wellness assessment. (Sample process questions

will be provided.)

 Students identify a dimension after assessment, and participate in one BW wellness

resource that addresses identified dimension. (See list of acceptable resources.)

 Assignments must include a written reflection (rubric provided) of the BW Wellness

resource attended that answer the following:
o Why it is important to work on your personal health and the connections of
personal health and the dimensions of wellness?
o Discuss the BW wellness activity you attended.
 Identify the wellness activity you attended along with what dimension(s) of
wellness the activity aligned with. Explain and discuss using characteristics
of the dimensions discussed in this class.
 Why did you choose to participate in this activity (refer to your wellness
dimensions assessment completed in this class)?
 How does the activity relate to your personal health and wellness?
o What can you do in order to continue to develop this dimension/s of wellness
throughout your life?

 Assignments should be well-written and demonstrate a thoughtful approach to the

connections and relationships as stated above.

 Assignments must be submitted in Blackboard (with SafeAssign enabled) without student

names on the document to enable de-identified assessment of the Wellness Core.
