Dear Ms. Reibold:

I am a college student and interested in opportunities to study abroad and expand my horizons. I
came across the Global Initiative Center website while researching online, and I am interested in
the free booklet advertised on your website. I believe that the information about scholarship
applications to study abroad will be very helpful. I appreciate that the Global Initiative Center
provides these booklets for free, and I would like to take advantage of the offer.

The booklet can be sent to my address, which is located at the top of this correspondence. Thank
you so much for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Sherry Jing

Dear Ms. Jing:

Thank you for inquiring about the Global Initiative Center’s “Study Abroad” booklet. Our
mission here at the Global Initiative Center is to provide information to help college students like
yourself prepare for excellence in school and beyond, and we hope this booklet assists you in
doing that.

Unfortunately, we received an influx of inquiries about the booklet in recent weeks and are
currently out of copies. We expect to receive more copies within two weeks, and I would be
happy to send you a copy as soon we receive the new shipment.

In the meantime, we do also offer a condensed PDF version of the booklet that can be
downloaded on our website. If you’re interested, the document can be downloaded at

Thank you again for your interest, and please let me know if you have any more questions.

Dear Mr. Mason:

On August 10th, the Global Initiative Center ordered 10,000 copies of our “Study Abroad”
booklet to be printed at Jones Printing Company. We worked with you to place the order and
ensure that it would arrive on time by September 10th.

On September 20th we received the order, 10 days later than the guaranteed arrival date. Upon
opening the shipment, we discovered that each booklet is missing several pages, specifically the
pages covering “Scholarship Application Process” and “Useful Websites”. This has happened
once before with an order placed with Jones Printing back on April 15th.

We have attached a copy of our receipt, as well as photos of where the missing pages should be
in the booklets. The Global Initiative Center has worked with Jones Printing for many years and
has an overall positive experience with your service, and we would appreciate it if you can
correct this problem immediately. We would like to receive replacement copies of the booklet by
October 1st so that they can be distributed to the students requesting them. Thank you for your
time and help with the matter.

Sincerely,

Dear Ms. Doe:

Thank you for reaching out to me and please accept my apology for the delay in shipping and the
error in printing. Jones Printing Company has started production of reprinting your booklets, and
they will be shipped out by the end of this week. I will email you a confirmation letter with
tracking information once the package is shipped.

Upon further investigation, I have discovered that your order was subcontracted to another
printing firm, ILM Printing Company, because of a backlog at Jones Printing. Please return the
booklets to Jones Printing within five working days so that I can return them to ILM. I have
included prepaid return postage for your convenience.

We here at Jones Printing Company appreciate your business, and we hope that this arrangement
will be satisfactory. Please let me know if you have any more questions or concerns, and I hope
that Jones Printing will get the opportunity to serve you again for your future printing needs.

Sincerely,

Robert Mason

JONES PRINTING COMPANY MEMO
TO: J. R. Jones
FROM: Robert Mason
DATE: September 23, 2019
SUBJECT: Quality Issues with Subcontracted Work from ILM Printing Company

Jones Printing Company’s mission is to provide a high quality printing service at a competitive
rate to help small businesses succeed through marketing and branding. Jones provides excellent
services in order to cultivate long-term relationships with customers. However, numerous orders
subcontracted to ILM Printing Company have resulted in complaints of errors from customers,
and this damages Jones’ reputation as a high quality printing service. I recommend that Jones
Printing Company should stop using ILM Printing Company for future subcontracting work in
order to preserve relationships with current clients and attract future clients.

Customer Complaints About Work Subcontracted to ILM Printing Company

Jones Printing Company has received customer complaints about ILM’s work regarding the
following:
● Printed materials missing pages
● Orders received after the guaranteed arrival date
● Materials printed using the wrong font and / or color scheme
● Incomplete orders: orders missing components

For these reasons, I believe that it would benefit Jones to cease subcontracting work to ILM
Printing Company. Jones Printing Company has worked hard to build its reputation of providing
outstanding service and earn a loyal following of customers. ILM’s printing quality does not
match up with Jones’ high standards, and further use of their services might prompt current
customers to stop using Jones and turn to our competitors for their printing needs.
