Role of a teacher according to Plato:

 The teacher holds immense importance.
 His role is like a torch who leads a man out of dark cave into bright light of outside
world.
 He is a constant guide for students.
 Person should have high integrity and have high self-worth.
 He should possess deep knowledge, professional training along with pleasant
personality.
 He should have high commitment towards his profession, have high sense of
responsibility and a true role model. They should practice what they preach.
