About Mundus

WHO WE ARE

Asociación MUNDUS is a non-profit organisation, founded in 2013 and based in Santa Coloma
de Gramenet (Barcelona), Zaragoza and Girona.

We manage projects about international mobility for youngsters with learning purposes -
such as traineeships, volunteering, exchanges, courses, etc. – as well as projects for
professionals who work in this field.

Asociación Mundus' aim is to promote education, intercultural learning, volunteering and

cooperation from the approach of non-formal education.

About Mundus

MISSION AND VISION

Our mission is helping young people to be prepared to successfully meet the challenges of the
nowadays society by empowering them through international learning experiences.

In the field of Youth Exchange, we had managed until 2018 over 500 volunteers and over 650
participants for Youth Exchange and training courses in foreign country in the European
Union.

We are also a sending, coordinator and hosting organisation of the European Voluntary
Service and European Solidarity Corps: every year we host volunteers who carry out projects
within the framework of the program in our organization and other local organizations with
who we collaborate in Catalonia and Aragon.

We also support Vocational Education and Training (VET) local centers in managing Erasmus+
VET mobility projects for their students, with a special stress on their intercultural preparation
and personal development. Likewise, we also welcome students from all over Europe, who
carry out professional traineeships in Zaragoza, keeping up with the motto of mobility as a
key element in the personal and professional development of students.

WE STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT ALL OUR INTERNATIONAL ACTIONS AND

ACTIVITIES SHOULD ALSO INVOLVE OUR LOCAL COMMUNITIES

WE BELIEVE THAT INTERNATIONAL MOBILITY IS A POWERFUL TOOL TO LEARN

About Mundus

MUNDUS' HEADQUARTERS

Asociación Mundus is mainly based in two cities. In Santa Coloma de Gramenet

(Barcelona) we are specialised in sending youngster to carry out traineeships,
volunteering and courses/exchanges abroad, as well as carrying out local activities
and strategic European projects.

In Zaragoza, our main activity is hosting students from all around Europe to carry out
a training period at local entities, thanks to our wide network of partner companies.

Morover, we collaborate in the space Estació Espai Jove de Girona, where we have a
point of dynamization and advice on international mobility.

About Mundus

OUR TEAM

All the staff of our association has wide experience in Erasmus+. Most of us have previous
experience as EVS volunteers or Erasmus+ participante in different countries. We are
highly motivated people with a wide experience as organizers, trainers and facilitators.

We have organised and participated in different international programs such as Youth in

Action, Erasmus+, Europe for Citizens, European Social Fund (Youth Guarantee) or the
italian PON, among others.

What we do

VOLUNTEERING
Asociación Mundus is an accredited
organisation to send and host
volunteers of different volunteering
program, co-founded by European
Commission: the former EVS
program – European Volunteering
Services, and now the new ESC –
European Solidarity Corps. We have
sent more than 500 volunteers to
European organisations to carry out
volunteering at solidarity projects
YOUTH ERASMUS+

We have a wide experience in youth

projects in the frame of Erasmus+
when it comes to coordinating and
hosting Erasmus+ Training Courses,
seminars and Youth Exchanges.
We are also a well trusted sending
partner for this kind of mobilities.
We have sent more than 650
youngsters and youth workers to
live their first international
experience abroad or to develop
profesional skills for youth work

EfVET is a non-profit, pan-European organisation of technical

and vocational education and training providers. Its mission is to
enforce and enrich technical and vocational education and training
through transnational co-operation by building a pan-European
network of institutions.

Asociación Mundus is certified with the RSA Label, a certification

created by the Government of Aragon with the aim of promoting
Corporate Social Responsibility among freelancers, companies and
all types of public and private organisations of the autonomous
region of Aragon, to implement socially responsible practices.

European Research Network in Vocational Education

and Training (VETNET) covers a broad range of research and
development activities in vocational education and training (VET).
VETNET was founded in 1996 as the second research network of
the European Educational Research Association (EERA).

EAfA unites governments and key stakeholders with the aim of

strengthening the quality, supply and overall image of
apprenticeships across Europe, while also promoting the mobility
of apprentices.

EU pro VET is a representational platform for European VET

providers. EUproVET offers the possibility to VET providers and
(leaders of) colleges and schools for strong representation at
European level, to voice their interests and to reach common
European goals.

The Trampoline project is part of the European program of

cross-border cooperation Interriego VA Spain-France-Andorra
(POCTEFA) 2014-2020, created to promote the sustainable development
of the border territory of Spain, France and Andorra, and aimed at
strengthening economic integration and social of this area.

TLN MOBILICAT

In 2018 we sent 25 youngsters who are unemployed so that they can do a four-month
internship abroad with linguistic and intercultural preparation.

TLN Mobilicat is a program co-founded by Generalitat de Catalunya and European Social

Fund, in the field of Youth Garantee program.
It is an European initiative which aims at reducing youth unemployment. Through TLN
Mobilicat, youngsters who live in Catalonia and who are registered in the Youth Guarantee
Registry, could have the opportunity to receive scholarships for carrying out professional
internships abroad.

Asociación Mundus is one of the Spanish organisations that manage TLN Mobilicat in
Catalonia, having held three yearly projects since 2016.

2018 Activities

VOLUNTEERING

In 2018, we had sent 143 youngsters from all around Spain to 18 different European countries.

At the end of 2018, we had sent and hosted more than 500 youngsters in volunteering
projects. Every project has different length, from one month to one year.

These projects are set within the frame of the European Volunteering Service (EVS) program,
which is a program co-founded by European Commision.

From next year on, this program will gradually disappear to give a step to the European
Solidarity Corps (ESC). Asociación Mundus has been recognized with the Quality Label which
enables us to send and receive EVS volunteers.

YOUTH ERASMUS+
ENVÍO
In 2018, we have sent 128 youngsters from all
around Spain to 26 Erasmus+ Youth
projects in 8 countries of the European Union.

These short term projects are in the field of KA1

Erasmus + program, co-founded by European
Commission.

Youth Exchanges Erasmus+ allow to youngsters

all around the Europe to meet and to share
their own culture and traditions through the work
of a main and daily topic, important for the
European Union.

On the other hand, Training Courses and

Seminars allow youth workers and leaders to be
trained and share good practices and activities in
different fields: society, education, training...

ERASMUS+ VET
The main activity of our team in Aragon is hosting students from all around Europe. They
come to Zaragoza and its surrounding areas with to perform professional internships in
different local companies.

We act as a hosting partners in Spain, and we work as an intermediary between VET centres
and local workplaces. Across the process, we have a key role in terms of: connection between
schools and internships, logistical preparation of the stay, design and follow-up of the training
program for each student, matching with local companies according to the profile, finding new
partners, drawing up and implementing a program of cultural activities, individualized
mentoring and resolution of possible conflicts.

In the 2018, Mundus hosted 530 student from six different European countries.

We have set a communication strategy that aims at promoting our programs and services to
Aragon companies. The main goals of our communication plan was to explain what kind of
benefits a company could have when hosting foreign interns.
Following this path, we have also created an award Empresa Amiga Erasmus+ - "Golden Host
Erasmus+" and we have given it to companies that have hosted VET students many times a
year. The promotional campaign aims to explain the importance of education and the roles of
tutors and supervisors in every company.
In 2018, we have recorded a huge increase of 170 companies more than 2017, reaching the
figure of 530 partner companies this year. This has led to an increase of approximately 80%
in the recruitment of host companies.

YOUTH ERASMUS+
HOSTING
In 2018, we have carried out also an Erasmus+ Training Course, Sharing our knEUledge, with the
partnership of the municipality of Girona and with the support of Xarxa d’Albergs de Catalunya
(XANASCAT).

From 10th to 16th of November 2018, Sharing our KnEUledge hosted 15 young workers from
Slovenia, Poland, Italy, France, Germany and Catalonia in Girona.

The project was deployed at Estació Espai Jove, a youth center, and in the Alberg Cerverí, that is
part of the public hostel network Xanascat. During 7 days, 15 people who were about to be
colleagues at new projects, shared ideas about the goals and opportunities of the Erasmus+
program, the benefits of international mobility and how it could foster local communities.

OUR PROJECTS

YOUNIC

Younic is a strategic training project within the framework

of the Key Action 2 (KA2) of the Erasmus+ program.
With Asociación Mundus as coordinator, it involved the
participation of partners inside and outside the EU.
Activities of professional qualification were developed, as
well as youth intercontinental mobility projects at local
volunteering projects.

MEGAVOLUNTEERS '18 (LONG-TERM EVS)

"EVS in XVIII Mediterranean Games Tarragona 2018" was a large

scale EVS volunteering project. 100 volunteers from Euromed,
Balkans and Europe were hosted in Tarragona, from June to July
2018 for the Mediterranean Olympics Games.
Asociación Mundus was the coordinator of 100 volunteers that
came from Euromed, Balkans and Europe for one month. 
It was a prestigious sport event for promoting culture of peace and
international dialogue between different Mediterranean countries.

BELLE
Belle is a cooperation project  for improving innovation and
exchange of good practices within the Key Action 2 of the
Erasmus+ program.  The main goal of Asociación Mundus is
to respond to the need to enhance adult training in
Europe with and to encourage adult participation in
educational processes and vital learning, as well as in
international mobility projects and online courses. 
The project have developed a free platform for adult
education with different courses for lifelong learning.

PARTNERS PROJECTS

ONLINE TRAINING COURSES FOR E+ YOUTH WORKERS

It is a strategic project for people who work in Erasmus+ projects with the aim to create, develop and
share online training courses in the different fields of the Erasmus+ program. The project is
coordinated by Romanian organisation Predict CSD Consulting.

ARTEM
Artem is a long-term project with the aim to develop an interactive place where Europeans and
migrants could create employment in a mutual dynamic process. This project is co-financed by the
European Commission’s Erasmus+ program and coordinated by Pistes Solidaires organisation.

MY STORY MAP
My Story Map  is a project about educational strategies that are based on the pedagogical use of
digital narration and digital maps, with the final goal of including youngsters in learning activities; and
also, thanks to the results achieved, to avoid the increasing risk of young people abandoning early the
educational system.

OPPORTUneetIES
OpportuNEETies is an Erasmus+ KA2 project (Strategic Partnership) that aims to increase the quality
and relevance of learning opportunities, by creating common skills among four European entities,
which are partners in this project.

THE VET LEARNER JOURNEY

The VET Learner Journey is a strategic project funded by the Erasmus + program by the European
Commission whose main objective is to improve the interrelation between learning mobility
experiences and VET curricula, through the exchange of good practices between partners and the
creation of an interactive tool.

EUROPE FOR VET+

It is an exchange project of good practices with the aim to improve the quality of the VET mobility
project in a traditional way. The goal is to promote the collaboration between Asociación Mundus and
other international organizations to standardise VET programmes.

LACE for SDG

Lace for SDG is a Capacity Building project, co-funded by Erasmus+, that aims to promote the
Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. LACE for SDG’s aim is to involve young people
in the field of the sustainable development goals and, at the same time, to build up a stronger
cooperation between Europe and Asia.

2018 RESULTS
In 2018, Asociación Mundus’ Communication Department was composed by two professionals and
one EVS volunteer.

The team created a communication strategic plan for promoting equality, inclusion, integration and
intercultural values through Mundus' communication actions. Other goals were: attracting participants,
partners and projects and reporting on the organization itself, existing programs and available
opportunities.

ONLINE COMMUNICATION

Throughout 2018, in the field of online communication,  Asociación Mundus has established
itself as one of the leading international mobility organisation in Spain when it comes to
consultation on mobility programs for young people and existing opportunities to carry out
a mobility project abroad.

Our channels are mainly the website, our Facebook page, our instagram and twitter
accounts and broadcasting chat on WhatsApp, a newsletter every two weeks and our
channel on Youtube.

2018 RESULTS

OFFLINE COMMUNICATION

In the field of offline communication, Asociación Mundus has regularly published posters, flyers
and roll-ups that help the team in different networking and training events in which the
association takes part. 

For the first year, and in the occasion of the long-term project EVS Mega, we managed the
Mediterranean Games, we edited bags, notebooks and pens to aware our identity before and
after the event. 
The use of this "merchandising" has been appreciated successfully and throughout the year we
have continued to make it in training courses, conferences and giving it to partner
organisations. This "merchandising" is added to the reusable cups and folders of the entity.

MEDIA PRESENCE

In 2018, Asociación Mundus has been present in local, regional and national broadcasters and
traditional media as organizer and participant of different events. 

For example, Europa Press and La Vanguardia have talked about our project “EVS MeGa” and
other media have talked about our training event “Can Europa 2018”.

Local Activities
ACTIVITIES

Mundus Association in very rooted in the local community of Santa Coloma de Gramenet, which
is highlighted by the fact that we have our office in a youth center: the Mas Fonollar.
The presence of the association in a common environment for local youth gives it a huge value in
terms of its connection with local youngsters and its ability to empower and involve them to
contribute to the development of their own community.
Moreover, an important part of the mission of Mundus Association has been - since its creation -
to bring international reality closer to the local environment, through various initiatives and
activities.

CAFÉ LINGÜÍSTICO - SANTA COLOMA DE GRAMENET

Asociación Mundus has organized every Tuesday activities of languages exchange in the youth center
Mas Fonollar. The participants of this weekly sessions could practise five different languages and
strenghten their relationship in a multi-cultural environment.

COLLABORATION WITH LOCAL INSTITUTIONS - SANTA COLOMA DE GRAMENET

We collaborate with different local institutions, coordinating international volunteering projects for
these entities. We collaborate or have collaborated directly with numerous local foundations (Tallers,
Mans à les Mans, EVEHO, Germina, Integramenet) and local entities (Rialles, El Faro, Ayuntamiento de
Santa Coloma).

PUNT DEL VOLUNTARIAT - SANTA COLOMA DE GRAMENET

We are member of “Punt del Voluntariat Local” at Santa Coloma which coordinates local volunteers
and non-profit organizations. The presence of Asociación Mundus in this forum makes a link between
our organization and other people and entities that potentially require our services.

LANGUAGE COURSES - SANTA COLOMA DE GRAMENET/ZARAGOZA

VET students on Erasmus+ placements can access preparatory language classes, which we offer
weekly for a period of between three and four months.

BIBLIOTECA HUMANA - SANTA COLOMA DE GRAMENET

We act like a link between youngsters that have lived a mobility project and others who want to know
how to make this experience come true. Our main goal is that everyone can get to know the Erasmus+
opportunities for young people. We have also a facebook group, called “Comando Trotamundus” for
this purpose.

MOBILITY CONSULTANCY - ZARAGOZA, SANTA COLOMA DE GRAMENET AND GIRONA

Our offices are also place for mobility consultancy in centres open to the public. Every day, young
people come here to know more about international projects, how to apply and what kind of
activities we have.

TALKS AND MOBILITY WORKSHOPS - BARCELONA AND GIRONA

Twice or three times every month, we made talks and workshops about mobility international
opportunities in youth centers of Barcelona, as well ad in Gerona, in partnership with the local
Estació Espai Jove.

INTERCULTURAL ACTIVITIES - BARCELONA, GIRONA AND ZARAGOZA

We have made sometimes in the year different activities about intercultural projects for youngsters,
as result of the international projects in which we are partners. These activities are a great value in a
multicultural context such as ours.

STRATEGIC PROJECTS
From the project YOUNIC, co-founded by European Commission for Mundus, was born an
organization for young care leavers UJEC. It is now autonomous and has an increasing impact on the
local community.

FESTIVALS AND EVENTS ABOUT INTERNATIONAL MOBILITY

Asociación Mundus was a participant of many events to raise awareness of the international mobility.
We created workshop and panels with the purpose to engage more youngsters.
