Leather & shoe adhesive is a leather adhesive based on polychloroprene, particularly low odor

and suitable for special use. Bonding with shoe soled glue results in a viscoplastic and
waterproof bond.

Leather & shoe adhesive is used for bonding leather to leather and other materials such as foam
and sponge rubber, felt, linen, polyurethane (PUR materials), rubber, thermoplastic rubber, PVC
materials and all common sole types, a compound with plastics, Wood, glass, cork, metal,
ceramics and others are also possible. Suitable for many materials in any combination with each
other, especially for leather in vehicles.

Application:
Preparation of the adhesive:

Stir before use (cans and larger containers). Ensure good ventilation!

Preparation of the adhesive surfaces:

The splices must be clean, free of grease and dry. Sand hard materials (eg roughen or sand metal
or painted surfaces with sandpaper). A rough surface has a larger surface, this is much better for
any bond.
Should be degreased, we recommend a non-greasy cleanser, such as alcohol 99% or acetone .
For rubber:

The same preparation applies here as for metal or painted surfaces. Due to the production, rubber
always has a repellent surface, which must be removed (by grinding). Again, degreasing the
surface is mandatory.
For rough absorbent substrates:

Basically roughen leather velvety.

If a smooth, non-absorbent surface and a rough, very absorbent surface are to be glued together,
the rough, very absorbent surface must first be prepared. It is a preliminary test to perform:
Does the rough absorbent surface, eg the back of thick leather, felt or sponge rubber etc. take up
the glue almost completely?
Then it is necessary to apply this surface first thin and evenly and let it dry for 10 minutes, as a
primer. In this case, coat BOTH parts thinly and evenly with adhesive in the second pass. If there
is too little adhesive to join the parts to the rough, highly absorbent surface to form a cohesive
surface, the glue will not stick here.
Apply adhesive:

Coat both parts thinly and evenly, leather and shoe adhesive is suitable for application by brush,
spatula or mechanically by rolling. Apply thin but covering - apply absorbent materials with a
second coat. There should be no fat drops. The more absorbent / porous the material, the faster
shoe sole glue dries.

Full-surface bonding is recommended.

Let the glue dry off:

After application, the adhesive surfaces must be dried (dried). The adhesive must be so dry that it
no longer sticks to the fingertip (leather / fabric from 5 minutes, for a painted surface up to 30
minutes). Depending on the ambient temperature and humidity or absorbency of the substrate or
the application thickness of the adhesive, this takes at least 3 to 10 minutes. A longer waiting
time of up to 45 minutes is recommended.

Put together:

After the surfaces are dried (dried), put both parts together (fit together) - a correction is not
possible here . Once the surfaces have touched, nothing can be corrected without destroying the
adhesive surface. So before the practice or the corresponding handles without glue, possibly take
another person to help. It is always important to avoid trapped air.

Sealing:

Now it is absolutely necessary that a pressure on the bond is applied. This is the only way to
weld the two surfaces to which a cohesion layer has previously been applied. This should be
done with large areas such as vehicle panels with a press. For small surfaces, a rubber mallet
should be sufficient, with which the adhesive surface is knocked. Pressing pressure min. 5 kp /
cm² (50 N / cm²). Press time approx. 5 seconds. It is pressure on the entire adhesive surface
needed, but this can be very short. The strength of the pressure is decisive for the adhesive
strength, not the duration.

Strength:
The glued workpiece can not be loaded immediately after pressing. Wait a few hours (depending
on ambient temperature and humidity). The final strength is reached after three days at the
earliest.

General:

 Application temperature not below + 15 ° C.

 Consumption: approx. 250-500 g / m² depending on the substrate when applied on both
sides.
 The bond is temperature resistant from -10 ° C to approx. + 70 ° C. As the bonding ages,
the temperature resistance increases.
 Viscosity about 1300 +/- 250 mPa.s at 20 ° C.
 Color: brownish-transparent, only slightly discolored.
 Shelf life: maximum one year after purchase of the goods.
 Not suitable for Styrofoam, Polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP) and Teflon.

Recommendation:

For large surfaces and flexible materials (such as leather in a vehicle), we do not recommend
applying and sticking the entire surface in one go. Go ahead piece by piece.
