Autobiography of a construction dispute

I am born as a small incident. An incident occurs. The contract gets side-tracked. Negotiations fail.
People take sides. Facts are hidden or distorted. I am fully grown.

I have offices throughout the world. It is the construction industry which seems attractive to me.

-Bid mistakes

-Incorrect drawings

-Delayed submission and review

-Overzealous comments

-Changes

This is how I engineer disputes

-Vendor list not updated

-Wrong ordering

-Balance ordering

-Ordering without client concurrence

This is how I procure disputes.

Defective material

Workmanship

Rejections

Inspectors look for quality-related defects. I am the biggest defect which goes unnoticed.

-Delayed access to site

-Differing site conditions

-Lack of safety
-Non-contractual punch list

-Delayed facility

Brick-by-brick I construct disputes.

-Unjust liquidated damages

-Not granting prompt extension of time

-Delayed payments

-Even more delayed decisions

-Not granting change orders

-Constructive changes

This is how I contract and administer disputes.

People can make me; people can break me.

Most look down upon me. But if I am not there, how will the weak get their rights?
