OBJECTIVE
To create harmonious relationship among students of St. Thomas More College,
as well as camaraderie and belongingness. Everyone in the community of the
college needs to have some enjoyment as the semester ends.

MECHANICS
GENERAL GUIDELINES

 The contests in the Year-End Party shall comprise of the following:


 STMC Got Talent
 Student & Professor Singing Duet

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

 The contest of the Year-End Party is open to all the bona fide students of
the St. Thomas More College who are officially enrolled.

CLAUSE ON LIMITS TO PARTICIPATION

 Each contestant shall only be joining one particular event. This is to give
the other students a chance to showcase their talents.

GENERAL CONTEST RULE

 Contestants must register to the designated officer-in-charge before


proceeding to the competition proper.

 The music that will be used must be placed in a flash drive, preferably in
mp3 (.mp3) format, labeled with the section/year level and the event. It is
to be submitted to the officer-in-charge, before the event starts.

 A draw lot system shall determine the order of the performance through a
representative from each section/year level prior to the contest proper.

 In case of any concern, clarification, or protest which is not governed by


the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the said provision, the Head
of the Judges shall have the power to objectively decide, upon
consultation to STMC-JPIA and/or JPIA Adviser, on matters which are
deemed necessary to preserve and protect the integrity of the event. Their
decision is final and irrevocable.
STUDENT & PROFESSOR SINGING DUET

 Each section/year level shall send one (1) pair consists of one (1) student
from their section/year level and one (1) professor of their choice.

 Each pair shall perform any song of their choice that was released in the year
1980’s and there is no restriction of how many songs that the pair will
perform as long as there are no obscene, lewd or disrespectful words in the
lyrics.

 The song that the pair personally chooses should have a minimum time limit
of four (4) minutes and a maximum of seven (7) minutes; this includes the
one (1) minute video presentation of the pair.

 The original beat/ accompaniment/ instrumental of their chosen song must be


used. Their other versions are not allowed except for they are released in the
year 1980’s.

 A three (3) point deduction in the total score shall be imposed to the pair in
case of disobedience to the mechanics.

Criteria for Judging:

MUSICALITY – Harmony, Rhythm, Sound Quality 50%


PERFORMANCE – Stage, Presence, Style 40%
AUDIENCE IMPACT 10%
TOTAL 100%
STMC GOT TALENT

 Each section/year level shall send either individual or group performers. In


case of group performers, a maximum of ten (10) members is required.

 Each representative per section/ year level shall perform any talent except for
singing and any other acts that involve fire or other harmful materials.

 Each performance shall have a minimum time limit of three (3) minutes and
a maximum (5) minutes.

 A one (1) point deduction in the total score shall be imposed to the pair in
case of disobedience to the mechanics.

Criteria for Judging:

CREATIVITY & UNIQUENESS 50%


OVERALL PERFORMANCE – Stage, Presence, Style 30%
AUDIENCE IMPACT 20%
TOTAL 100%
