Objectives:

1. Recognize a three-letter word which is made up of three distinct sounds.


2. Construct a simple sentence in a rambled word with CVC words through
group activities.

Subject Matter:

Topic: CVC reading


Reference: CVC pattern, depedtambayan.org
Materials: Pictures, laptop, PowerPoint presentation

Procedure

Drill: Read the vowel and consonant of the English alphabet with its
corresponding sounds.

Motivation: Read the following words with a short /a/, /e/, /i/, /o/, and /u/.
Activity: Arrange the following fishes to form a sentence.

 A cat on a mat.
 A fan on a van.
 A hat on a lap.
 A cat on a bed.
 A red pen and a red cap.
 A wet pet in a net.
 A big pig in a wig.

Enrichment Activity:

Identify pupils who are slow readers and enhance reading activity through
“the word ladder challenge”.
