students’ academic performance. The descriptive-correlation method was used while

gathered data were statistically interpreted using weighted mean and Pearson Product

Moment Correlation Coefficient to correlate the internal and external factors with their

academic performance. Based on the findings, study revealed that of all the factors being

studied, only the internal factors have a significant relationship with the academic

performance of the Grade 7 students. Hence, the researchers concluded that only the

internal factors have an affect in the learners’ academic performance in second language
