How to create a Weebly Account

1. Go to the following address

https://www.weebly.com/signup
2. Fill in your Full Name, Email and Password and click Sign Up Free
3. You may be asked to complete a test to verify you are indeed a human? Tests may vary. Complete the
test to move to step 4.
4. You may be logged directly into Weebly or you may be asked to choose between creating a website or
an online store. Make sure you choose a website and NOT an online store.
5. You will be asked to choose a Theme. Themes determine the basic look and makeup of your website.
While themes are extremely important, the good news is that we can change themes at any time. Under
the Business category I would suggest you choose the Pathway theme as it is very basic and a good them
to start with. The names of the themes are typically at the top of the theme preview and are related to
what that sample webpage represents. On my screen the Pathway theme was right at the top on the right.
6. You will now be taken to the preview of your theme to see how it looks on a full page. From here you
can accept the theme and click “Start Editing” to build your website or you can click the X in the top left
corner to “Close” and select a different theme. Let’s click start editing. This will now take a few seconds
while Weebly sets up your website.
7. IMPORTANT Next we will be asked to provide a domain name for our website. This is the web address
that others will use to find us on the internet. You may use whatever name you like as long as it is not
taken. We can change this later if we want to so don’t worry too much about it. I am going to enter
comp1703fall2019 and click on SEARCH. NOTE: You may use dashes but no periods in your name.
When Weebly shows you the search results You MUST use the free SUBDOMAIN site at the bottom.
This will add .weebly.com to your site name. DO NOT use any of the professional domain options as
they cost money.

8. If the subdomain you have requested is not available, search for another. When done click choose and done.
