PTE ACADEMIC RETELL LECTURE

PTE Academic You are given 10 seconds to prepare. You have 40 seconds to retell in your own

words the information in a 60-90 second lecture. You will have 3 to 4 Retell Lecture tasks. The

microphone turns off automatically if there is no sound for three seconds.

The lecture / speaker talks about (state main idea with noun phrase) .

Identify and provide the main idea of the lecture and briefly state it as an

introduction. Study the picture if there is one. It will give you a general idea

about the context of the lecture.

According to the lecture / speaker , he / she mentions that (simple sentence) .

Provide one key point that supports the main idea. Use the provided discourse to

buy time to structure your thoughts. Names, numbers and dates are not crucial. 

In addition, the lecture / speaker also indicates that (simple sentence) .

Provide another key point that supports the main idea. Identify the overall

purpose of the lecture and not the specific details. 

The lecture / speaker concludes that (simple sentence) .

Identify and state the conclusion if provided. Otherwise, provide the third key

point that supports the main idea. Keep talking, saying something - anything - is

better than saying nothing.
