Effective hazard
Poorly arranged, marked and maintained mooring areas
and equipment can also contribute to both personal
markings
injuries and equipment damage.
Reflective Learning
During the focus on this theme, we recommend that you incorporate a practice
known as “reflective learning,” which has been shown to dramatically increase a
small group’s capacity to absorb information. In this process, a group discuss
an incident relevant to their work environment; aided by engaging materials
(video, slideshow or both); and use questions that personalise learning. The
interaction within the group generates empathy and a commitment to action.

As part of the safety focus on mooring, we will be sharing more information
with you about how reflective learning could be used to support the way your
organisation learns.
