[Journal No. Vol.XL, No.2, June.2006, Published by Mathematics Education (India), Siwan (Bihar)]

KEY WORDS
Regular polygon, Inscribed circle and Circum circle

SCOPE OF DERIVATION OF FORMULA

In Geometric, right-angled regular polygon is one of the two-dimensional plane having n-sides, all sides
equal length and equal angle and which is very important to solve problems related to Geometry and
sometimes in other subject also.
We know already the following four basic formulae (Ref: fig. 1)
n a2
1. Area of the polygon(A) = ( )
4 tan(θ°⁄ )
2
2. Perimeter of a polygon = na
𝑎
3. Radius of inscribed circle(r) = ( )
2 tan(θ°⁄2)
a
4. Radius of circum circle(R) =
2 sin(θ°⁄2)

NEW FORMULA FOR POLYGON

In addition to these, Author has now developed some new formulae related to right-angled as follows:

𝑛 ∗
5. 𝑏 = 𝑎 + 2𝑎 {cos 𝜃° + cos 2 𝜃° +cos 3𝜃° + ⋯ … … + cos (( ) (θ°⁄2))}

(𝑛 − 1)𝜃 °
6. ℎ = 𝑎 {𝑠𝑖𝑛 𝜃 ° + 𝑠𝑖𝑛 2𝜃 ° + 𝑠𝑖𝑛 3𝜃 ° + … … … … . . . + 𝑠𝑖𝑛 ( )}
