DETAILED LESSON PLAN

I. OBJECTIVES

a. Label the parts of the tongue.


b. Identify the parts of the tongue that senses different tastes.
c. Show that the taste buds cover the tongue.

II. SUBJECT MATTER:

The Tongue and the Different Tastes

A. Concepts
1. The tongue senses different tastes.
2. Tastes areas are sensitive to bitter taste, sour taste,
salty taste, and sweet taste.
3. The tongue covered the taste buds.
4. The nerve connected to the taste buds send
messages to the brain.

Picture of tongue with label, candy, ampalaya,


vinegar or kalamansi, salt, popsicle sticks

III. PROCEDURE:

A. Preparatory Activities

1. Prayer

Before we start our lesson, may we have Remalyn to Ok ma’am.

3. Health inspection

Before we start our lesson, let’s first have our health


inspection.

popsicle stick .

Conduct a taste test. Blindfold several pupils and ask tiny bumps
them to identify the tastes by doing the following:

Ask: May I call on 4 pupils to come infront and have a


taste test.

a) Taste the candy, ampalaya, vinegar and salt.

b) Ask some pupils to taste one food and tell its taste. Answer: By chewing
the food we eat, by
sweet, bitter, sour, salty licking the food.
