Width: 37¾ (42½, 47¼)”

Length: approx. 22” [56cm], including crocheted edging,
excluding fringe.

Materials: approx. 6 (7, 8) balls (approx. 131yd/120m

each) of Schachenmayr select Reflect (52% viscose,
48% cotton) in col 04172 sage/silver, approx. 2 balls
each in col 04176 coffee/cream and col 04108 sun,
approx. 1 ball each in col 04116 silver and col 04104
beige.
Size 4-6 [3.5-4mm] needles, size E/4-G/6 [3.5-4mm]
crochet hook.

Garter st: k every row.

Patchwork Front: work center square in garter st, then

work triangles in garter st as instructed.
Shape triangles using short-rows. Turn work after having
worked the number of sts indicated in pattern. Sl1 pwise
wyif, bring yarn to back of work over top of the needle
and pull it very tightly; this will rotate the st to the back
of the needle so that both ‘legs’ of the st from the row
below are now on the needle. On foll rows, work to
‘double st’ [= 2 loops on needle], insert rh needle into
both loops and k or p as you would normally.
After completion of each triangle, do not bind off but
leave sts on holder for next triangle.
Crocheted Pattern:
In rows:
Row 1: join yarn with sl st. Ch 2, dc, * ch 3, skip approx.
½” [1.5cm], dc2tog in same st [ = 1 cluster], rep from *.
Row 2: ch 3, * 1 cluster in ch-3 sp, ch 3, rep from *, ch
1, dc in 2nd t-ch of row 1.
Row 3: ch 2, dc in ch1-sp, * ch 3, 1 cluster in ch-3 sp,
rep from *, ch 3, 1 cluster in 3rd t-ch of row 2.
Work row 1 once, then repeat rows 2 and 3 throughout.
In rnds:
Rnd 1: join yarn with sl st. Ch 2 [counts as dc], * ch 3,
skip approx. ½” [1.5cm], dc2tog in same st [ = 1 cluster],
rep from *, dc and sl st in 2nd ch at beg of rnd.
Rnd 2: ch 3, * 1 cluster in ch-3 sp, ch 3, rep from *, 1
cluster and sl st in 2nd ch at beg of rnd.
Rnd 3: ch 2, dc in ch1-sp, * ch 3, 1 cluster in ch-3 sp,
rep from *, ch 2 and sl st in 2nd ch at beg of rnd.
Work rnd 1 once or work rnds 1-3 once according
to instructions.
Gauge: 24 sts and 48 rows = 4” [10 cm] in garter st and
short rows; 23 sts and 44 rows = 4” [10 cm] in garter st.
Crocheted pat: 6.5 clusters and 7 rows = approx. 4” [10
cm].
METHOD
Front:
Center square: worked from the top down.
Arrow on schematic shows direction of work.
With smooth waste yarn, cast on 24 sts.
Change to main yarn in sun. Beg with a RS row, work in
garter st for 44 rows. Cut yarn.
Do not bind off.
First triangle: join coffee/cream, knit 2 rows, then work
short-rows as foll: k3, turn, work ‘double st’, knit to end.
Turn, k6 [work ‘double st’ as instructed as you come to
it], turn, work ‘double st’ knit to end.
Continue in this manner, working 3 additional sts at end
of next 6 (8) RS rows. Work 1 WS row across all sts, cut
yarn, sl sts to holder.
2nd triangle: with silver, pick up and k 24 sts along right
edge of center square. K1 WS row. K3, then work short-
rows same as for first triangle, working 3 additional sts
at end of next 7 RS rows. Work 1 WS row across all sts,
cut yarn, sl sts to holder.
3rd triangle: carefully remove waste yarn and sl sts to
needle. With sage/silver, k 1 WS row, then work short-
rows as before, working 3 additional sts at end of next 8
RS rows. Work 1 WS row across all sts, cut yarn, sl sts
to holder.

37¾” is worked without armhole shaping; for size 42½”,

Shape armholes: bind off 0 (14, 28) sts at beg of next 2

Pin front to measurements and block with damp towels.
Sew back shoulders to top edge of front, 3½” [9cm] in

shoulders on front and 8¼ (9½, 10¾)” [21 (24, 27) cm]
down from shoulders on back.
With sage/silver and crochet hook, work crocheted pat =
approx. 24 (27, 31) clusters for 3 (5, 7) rows and sleeve
measuring approx.
1½ (2¾, 4)” [4 (7, 10) cm].
Next dec row [pat row 2]: ch 2, dc in next ch-3 sp, work
pat between *s, end dc in last ch-3 sp, dc in 2nd t-ch.
Repeat dec row 5 (7, 9) times = approx. 18 (20, 22)
clusters remain.
Work a total of 14 (16, 18) rows; sleeve should measure
approx. 8¼ (9½, 10¾)” [21 (24, 27) cm]. Next row: ch 1,
sc in every st and 3 sc in each ch-3 sp. Fasten off.
