Construction Module Reflection

1. Implementation of feedback:

I recently completed an assignment for my EDT 180 class where I had to construct an

interactive application that would help a user make a decision. For this assignment my friends,

Brian and Gaby, and I chose to do an application that would help our users choose which

restaurant they should eat at based off of their preferences titled Where Should I Eat?. We were

required to bring an almost completed copy of the application to class on November 7th and

during class we received peer feedback about our application from our classmates Cante Zephier,

Hailey Roberson, and Caitlin Anderson.

The feedback that we received from our peers are simple to fix, but tedious. If I was to

revise our application I would add more transitions and sounds to our individual slides. If we

were to make these changes to our application it would help set the mood and would make it

more entertaining for our users. Hailey and Caitlin reviewed our application together and agreed

that the application was easy to follow and fun, but they would’ve liked to see a little bit more

variety when it comes to the media aspect of the application. Cante mentioned that she really

enjoyed the application, but she would have loved it if there was audio included. Overall the

changes that my classmates suggested I make are not too difficult, but they are tedious since they
require me to go through each slide and add in audio while adjusting the timing in which the

audio occurs.

2. Learning Reflection:

By looking over the feedback that was left on my application I can learn a lot about the

process of revision. Before any revision can be made on a project in which you have created you

must receive feedback on the content you have in the current moment because if you don’t

receive feedback you won’t know what revisions need to be made. It is important to note that it

is necessary to highlight both the positive and negative aspects of the content while leaving peer

feedback on a classmates work. Based on my experience with this project and the peer feedback

that I received I would approach this project a different way if I started again, but I would keep

the same general theme. If I were to start this project again I would create many new options and

would make the questions more in depth while also adding transitions and audio. These different

approaches and changes would make my application perfect.

3. Alternative Use / Future directions

I have learned a lot about the different ways that Powerpoint can be applied that I had not

initially considered. For example, I didn’t even know that it could be used to create an interactive

game that guides its users to make a decision. In an educational environment it can be used as a

way to provide notes for students and as a way for students to give presentations. Also it would

allow for teachers to upload their notes on an online classroom for students to reference while

perfecting their notes, doing their homework, or studying for an exam. One hypothetical use of
Powerpoint that we haven’t considered yet would be learning the science behind why specific

people make certain decisions.
