PROJECT PLAN

EXPRESSION MODULE
MADISON STALLARD NOV. 26,
2019

DESCRIPTION
After having multiple discussions with my peers and instructors, I
have come to the conclusion that my teaching philosophy will always
be evolving. The way I envision my classroom and who I will be as a
teacher can be completely different than how I feel ten years from
now or even a month from now. Both of which are completely okay
because, as we have learned, one of the keys to being an effective
teacher is to constantly be evolving with yourself and your students.

As of right now, my teaching philosophy involves my belief that

every student, no matter their background, identity, abilities or
disabilities, political ideology, race, etc. deserves an equal
opportunity in creating and obtaining their dreams. It isn’t my job as
an educator to judge or decide which students are worthy of gaining
an education. Instead, it is my job to provide students with
opportunities that will allow them to reach their greatest potential,
and in some cases defy the social boundaries that have been
assigned to them because of their past.
PROJECT MEDIUM (MULTIMEDIA)

In order to adequately explain and represent my education

philosophy, I have decided to create a website. A website not only
appeals to my own personal likings, being organized and stylish
while also being very user-friendly, but also adheres to the needs of
my audience. On my website, I will have pages introducing myself
and my career goals. Additionally, I will have pages that explain my
philosophy, how I will implement it, as well as how technology will
influence my vision now and in the future.

POTENTIAL BENEFITS OF MULTIMEDIA

Using a website as my multimedia platform gives me the benefit of

having complete control in the attention of my viewers and ensure
that they have an adequate amount of time to properly absorb the
information. A viewer can only focus on the page that they are on,
rather than them having to try and focus, and fully understand the
information quickly, similar to listening to a podcast, viewers will
have all the time needed to explore my website. Additionally, the
website is extremely accessible and is easily linked to my portfolio
website needed for EDT 180, making my teaching philosophy widely
accessible.

POTENTIAL CHALLENGES OF MULTIMEDIA

The biggest challenge that I can see being something I will need to
work to overcome and successfully complete this project is my lack
of experience using the website creator platform, Weebly. While I do
have some experience creating a website using the platform, I still
feel unfamiliar with some of the capabilities the platform offers.

In order to overcome this challenge, I will just have to be diligent

during my creative process. Meaning that I will need to be
comfortable asking questions when I need help, as well and being

open to new ideas and any help offered. Despite my challenge, I do
believe that I will be able to successfully create a website that will
provide users, and myself, an effective place to refer to my teaching
philosophy and how it will look in the future.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Despite the various advancements in technology and the world in

general, some aspects of education have remained the same for the
past ten years. There are far too many teachers using the same
exact lesson plans and activities that they created when they first
began teaching, and it has been proven time and time again, that
old methods rarely work on new generation students. Although this
remains true, there is also a rise in educators who believe that
adaptations of lessons that are more accommodating to students
and their needs as each generation rises. That is the category that I
classify myself in. I believe that in order to adequately teach future
generations, we have to learn to teach them.

Ten years from now, my teaching philosophy is expected to be

completely different than what I have concluded it to be today. Like
more evolutions, this is completely normal and okay. Just like my
philosophy explains, successful educators need to be open to
adaptation and change in all aspects of education in order to
adequately prepare future generations.

When we look to the future, technology is the one thing that is

almost guaranteed to change. Even in the past few years,
technology has taken humongous strides in the world of artificial
intelligence, reality simulators, and changes, etc. Ten years from
now, I can expect technology to have an even bigger effect on my
classroom and students than it does right now.
