JEAN GREY

Character Development
 Jean Grey was not born with the Phoenix Force. She naturally have telekinesis
and telepathy, but Charles Xavier blocked her telepathic power that made her
able to control others after Jean finds herself crashed into a coma after saving
someone in the galaxy.

Power
 Jean Grey is a powerful psychic, and with that she has 2 abilities which is
telepathy and telekinesis. These abilities gives her so much power, as she can
control everything that surrounds her.

Symbolism of the Character


 She symbolizes female empowerment or women power because she showed
that what men can do, can also be done by woman.

Plot
Dark Phoenix
 After the car accident of her parents caused by her own powers, Jean Grey was
raised by professor Charles Xavier at his school. Years have passed, she was
joined in X-Men. One day, the X-Men was assigned to rescue a team of
astronauts at the galaxy. But when a mission went wrong and she was nearly
killed when she’s hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Jean Grey developed
incredible powers that turned her into a Dark Phoenix. As they returned back to
Earth, she changed into a little more weary of the world and the universe she
lives and she is no longer innocent. She was swallowed by the blackness of her
despair and the evil that lurks inside her. At the ending of the movie, there is one
person who wants to own the power of the Dark Phoenix and Jean Grey
sacrificed his life to save the world.

Conflict
 Based on the story, it is man vs. man and man vs. himself. It is man vs. himself
and man vs man, due to the abundance of the power that she got from the
universe, she got out of control that she fight herself when doing things that can
harm her fellow X-Men.

DOCTOR STRANGE

Character Development
 Before he became Doctor Strange, he was a surgeon. But after a car accident
that severely damaged his hands that caused him to suffer nerve damage and
hinders his ability to perform surgery, he searches the globe for a cure and
encounters the Ancient One, the then-holder of the title Sorcerer Supreme. The
Ancient One taught him the wizardry, as well as how to tap into the mystical
powers of the world.

Power
 He has the ability of transmutation, telekinesis, teleportation and protective
shields. Doctor Strange can separate his spirit and consciousness from his
physical body.

Symbolism of the Character


 Doctor Strange symbolizes perseverance, because even though there is an
problem that he encountered, he did not gave up on his life. He has persistence
despite of what happened to him.

Plot
 After the accident, Doctor Stephen Strange's life changed. He searched for the
cure after traditional medicine failed to heal his nerve damage on his hands.
Doctor Strange travels to Kathmandu where he meets the sorcerer Mordo and
he is introduced to the Ancient One. Doctor Strange was taught about the three
Sanctums that protects the Earth. The Ancient One taught him the wizardry as
well as how to tap into the mystical powers of the world and the Ancient One
agreed to train Stephen Strange. However, Kaeculius, the former student of
Ancient One plans to destroy the three Sanctums to let the Dark Dimension rule
the world where there is no time and anyone can be immortal. Doctor Strange
used the power of time to defeat his enemy.

Conflict
 In the beginning of the story, it is man vs. himself because after the accident that
happened to him, Doctor Stranger became to doubt himself. It is also man vs.
man because he feud with sorcerer and a former member of the Masters of the
Mystic Arts who became disillusioned with the Ancient One when he felt his
mentor was not allowing other dimensions to come to Earth.

SUE STORM RICHARDS (INVISIBLE WOMAN)

Character Development
 Susan Storm overcame the loss of parents when she was a child. When she
grew, Sue Storm received powers by being exposed to a cosmic storm. After
receiving her powers, she co-founded the Fantastic Four.

Power
 She is able to become invisible. She can also project powerful fields of invisible
psionic, hyperspace-based energy that she uses for a variety of offensive and
defensive effects, including shields, blasts, explosions, and levitation.

Symbolism of the Character


 She symbolizes cleverness especially among women and those characteristics
that should not be underestimated by society.

Plot
Fantastic Four 1
 When an experimental space voyage goes awry, four people are changed by
cosmic rays. Reed Richards, inventor and leader of the group gains the ability to
stretch his body, and takes the name Mr. Fantastic. His girlfriend, Sue Storm,
gains the ability to turn invisible and create force fields, calling herself the
Invisible Woman. Her younger brother Johnny Storm gains the ability to control
fire, including covering his own body with flame, becoming the Human Torch.
Pilot Ben Grimm is turned into a super-strong rock creature calling himself
Thing. Together, they use their unique powers to explore the strange aspects of
the world, and to foil the evil plans of Doctor Doom.
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
 After defeating Von Doom, the Fantastic Four can really enjoy life more. All four
are now comfortable with their new powers. The Thing and Johnny Storm now
get along with each other, and Sue Storm is now planning to be Mrs. Fantastic.
Galactus, an evil creature in space, has decided that Earth is its new target, and
sends the Silver Surfer to destroy it. Reed Richards and his team must now work
together to capture this surfer, and even must now team up with one individual
who they didn't expect to help.

Conflict
 The series is obviously man vs. man, because the Fantastic Four had been
united by their different powers caused by experimental cosmic rays and they
used it to put fight against Von Doom.

Conclusion
 They don’t have connections with each other, but they have differences when it
comes to the powers they have. They also differ in symbolisms and they belong
to different sets of heroic groups.
