As stated by Dr.

Tim Gopeesingh in an article published by The Trinidad and Tobago Guardian,

"The Government has supplied 73,200 laptops to students from 2010 to 2013 at a cost of $253
million." Similarly, as published in an article by The Washington Post referencing The Baltimore
County's Elementary Laptop Program, it stated, "We introduced a $147 million rollout aimed at
giving students from first to 12th grade access to technology and transforming the way lessons
are taught." However, a commonality between these two articles, is the fact that a large capital
was allocated, upwards of 10 million dollars per year, for a company to do repairs on non-func-
tioning computers and maintenance as well as the warranty extension.
