Punto Urban Art Museum

 Tourism is the largest industry in Salem, bringing more than $90


million to the city, but almost none of that revenue goes to the Point
 There are over 12,000 residents living in the Point Neighborhood
 Punto Urban Art Museum is run by North Shore Community
Development Coalition, a nonprofit organization founded in 1978,
dedicated to developing and maintaining affordable housing in
Massachusetts communities.
 North Shore CDC is led by a Board of Directors which includes Point
neighborhood residents and business owners
 100% of the homes are North Shore CDC owned, designated
affordable housing buildings
 There are currently over 75 public full-size murals by world renowned
artist
 An additional 25 local artists from across the New England area are
featured every year with a gallery on Peabody dedicated to local art
 The murals are located within a 3-block radius, making the museum
one the largest public art installations in the United States.
 Over 2,000 individuals enrolled in the educational tours in 2018
 In spring 2018, community members were able to fundraise over
$50,000 in six weeks, in order to bring new artists to contribute to the
museum
 Punto Urban Art Museum works with over 20 different minority owned
local businesses, in order to support community engagement
