Introducing KM

Background and objectives
• Knowledge Management unit was set up in March
2018, based on internal need assessment and a
recommendation made in the EPR Business Case.
• 4 members, three recruited.
• The objectives of setting up of KM unit are:
• a) Gather evidence on what works, what does not work
and capture lesson learned from the programmes; and
• b) Continuously extract, capture, store and improve both
internal and external knowledge to improve
the organizational performance.
• Originally proposed as KMRC, it was shorted as KM
in April
• Three inter-related portfolios: KM, Research and
Communication

Scope of work
• Design and delivery of knowledge management
system to capture, store, reuse and disseminate
various knowledge products
• Position MJF as knowledge leader in the field of
human rights and good governance.
• Supervise the development of research process and
agenda through creative, innovative and effective
tools for policy advocacy consistent with research
findings
• Content management to ensure both quality of
content and compliance with the branding guidelines
• Advise on using creative communication tools in
various engagement efforts with multi-stakeholders

5. New research initiative Fundamental Rights Index, concept note drafted,
appreciated by a Professor of Columbia University
6. Management of a research Sustainable Oceans, supported by DIHR
project
7. RTI Survey MJF is the lead of a Consortium, supported by the
World Bank
8. Research networking Research article with ADRN published in East Asia

1. Media support to Outreach event at Shahid Minar, days observance such as
various programmes. International Rural Women’s Day, RTK Day, Disaster Reduction Day,
Adibashi Dibosh including several roundtables with DS, PA, Ittefaq+

3. Advocacy MJF is included in NGOAB’s SDG Sub-Committee, some
recommendations of MJF for simplifying FD6 form was accepted.
