CHAPTER XI

SCHEME OF STUDIES FOR THE


INTERMEDIATE EXAMINATION

1. With effect from 1996, the Punjab Boards will hold the Intermediate Examination Part-wise under
the Part System. The Examination for Class XI will be called Intermediate Part-I Examination and
the Examination for Class XII will be called Intermediate Part-II Examination.
2. Under the Part System, Paper A will be called Paper I and Paper B will be called Paper II.
3. The candidates will have to take up the Elective Subjects in Part-II in which they had already
appeared in Part-I Examination.

C - Non-Examination Compulsory Subjects

Physical Education; Civil Defence, and Manual Work: Every candidate from a recognized
institution shall be required to follow the prescribed course of Physical Education and Civil
Defence and also to undertake prescribed Manual Work as a condition of eligibility to take the
